I am new to the forums. I have been shooting for about a year. I shoot a PSE Nova with 700 arrow grain setup.

But what i am looking for is "Cheap" accessories. I know you get what you pay for but buying a sight for over $50 seems a little excessive to me. Any suggestions for decent field tested ( by you ) sights?

I have always used a pressure/plunger rest, I would like to get a fall away/drop away rest, but yet again, $50 is again over priced for me. I am willing to spend up to $70 but I still wanna go cheap if possible.

Did i mention Michigan's economy SUCKS!

This isnt really a budget question, but i found this loop, T.R.U. NOK. Wouldnt a metal loop add more noise, and drag on the string slowing it down? Also, am I the only one that doesnt like noks and uses flossing string and super glue to put peeps, kissers on to reduce string drag?

I guess that is all i need to know, i believe a budget list should be created any way for those just starting out as well, why pay for the best when your not one of the best??

    Thanks for any help.

    Alex.

wonderful. thank you for the prong to drop away. i didnt find a guide on it but i took my own ingenuity to create one. i will post pictures maybe later and a guide on how i personally did it.

as for the rest, i am going out here in a few days to a cabela's store, and bass pro shop. so i will look for that site.

Drop in on some local shops and get to know the folks. Let them know what you need and ask if there are any used deals...

When i started out like 4 years ago....i bought all the cheap products...but from experience im telling you..somethings you cant cut corners on....like my sites..i hated my sites..went out and actually spent some money on a 80 dollar site..and i freak love it...it has helped me so much....

I also use to by cheap arrows....21.99 easton raiders....thought they were a good arrow when i started, then moved to a more high dollar arrow and i cant believe the groupings and arrow accuracy i have gotten since i upgraded..

going cheap is a good idea..i mean i still do it with somethings..but some items you just got to put a little money into.

Yeah I understand the going cheap. Thats why I asked for field tested items that are proved to work. Arrows are one thing I don't skip out on. I am still debating on a sight, I'm worse than a woman in a jewelry shop when it comes to hunter supplies and bow accessories.

If money is a factor, go to ArcheryTalk classifieds. You can get pretty much anything you want at about 1/2 price of new (and some will be new for that price). You need to do your homework though, as it is a public classifieds site. Lots of great deals. :D

Walmart has carried some cost effective stuff for awhile now & the best part about it -They all go on sale Before the end of the archery season .......

YOu can Buy the CX terminator hunters/lite when they go on sale for $3.50 / $4.50
an arrow... You cant beat that price anywhere...

They sell Sims Stabilizers & vib dampeners, sights , String loops , nocks, tools, wax, broadheads, lube, & all of thats stuff for cheap......... Not the "Spur of the moment/Hottest thing on the market" equipment but,,, stuff that has been tried & tested true to work...........

Tru glow has some Real bright & simple sights for $50 at an Gander mountain or such ....

The road trips 3 pin sight is $60 / Lightweight & bright

WB/Hostage/ QAD's drop away works damn well for $60 !!!!

I bought a Trophy ridge Matrix sight becasue uit was the thing to have at the time -- Guess what ???

    Its a pile of **** !!!!!!!!

I ended up buying another one because the pins kept breaking & the cost of replacing the pins back them were outrageous / Still $40 for 3 pins ...... I have $300 _ into a sight that has had pin problems for 3 years until they started selling a steel pin . instead of the plastic ones they had........

SO,, I have a parts sight ........ COOL

It dont always pay to get the coolest thing out there when it first comes out - There is plenty of product that are a few years old that hold their own & out perform alot of the newest stuff.......
