Don't slap Jesus....Used Mathews Switchback. Own a legend that has a great, smooth draw cycle and is a zombie in the hand (beyond dead) My Switchback is worth 80%-85% of what it cost new in 2005 right now...why do you suppose that is?
Price of bows 8 years later? Jesus? Do You think Jesus would bring in a convicted game violator, draft dodgin, high fence huntin, child bride........................?
Super displeased with Mathews over that one....doesn't change the quality or legend of the Switchback though. Super displeased with Gold Tip for the same reason but it doesn't change the fact that XT Hunters are tough as 10 penny nails.
I just purchased a pse stinger 3g for $300 for just the bow. Have been shooting it that past few days...so far seems great. Definitely a step up from the old Browning I had. Also this is my first post. Hello everyone.
There are good bows all over the place. If you are going big box don't expect much. Selection will be bad, help will be horrendous, and the overall experience will not be complete. Do yourself a favor, skip the big box stores. Find out who the local archery shops are in your neighborhood and go visit some. You will get set up right whether it is new or used. Bows are not guns. They are personal killing devices, and if you skip the attention a good pro shop will give you, you won't be getting all that you can out of your bow...
Buy used! You can easily get the top of the line bows that are a few years old for half the price they retailed for. IMO much better then buying a new budget bow.
