This dude, at 70 yards. Shot the next year, just a few yards off our property line while be chased by dogs.
THAT LOOKS JUST LIKE THE ONE I SAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the one i saw had a little more mass but still nice deer!!!
Last October on my way to the property I ran into my dad and he needed a hand, an hour later I made it to my stand to see two bucks as big or bigger than this one dogging a doe within 20 yards of my stand. They pushed her up a hardwoods ridge so I made my way into my stand and 5 minutes later had this guy headed up the ridge at 60 yards with two smaller bucks. Never got a shot, but gotta love it when that lone doe somes into estrous extra early!! 160-170 would be the biggest I know of, I got a glimps of a few that I couldn't get a definate idea on how big they were!
Last year while filming Justin we saw a mid 150ish buck called Honcho. That's the biggest buck I have ever seen in the field. While hunting, I saw a mid-130s when Muzzleloading during the 2007 season.
Came in fast with a bunch of does and he brought a bad case of buck fever with him. Bad shot. Never found.
Incredible mass on that deer. I find it hard to believe he only went 154 (I use "only" very loosely here), he sure looks bigger! Awesome deer!
I'm not sure what he scored but the last tie I got out I saw a beast of a buck come into the corner of the field I hunt. I already filled my buck taggs so I had to just watch him. He was a 14 pointer that was way outside his ears. I called him the mini horned horse. Hopefully one of these seasons I can get a pic of him on trail cam or in my hands.
Steve I remember how disappointed I was for ya when you posted the thread up about him being killed. That sucks man, wish it would have turned out different for ya!
I'm sorry I don't have any pics of the buck but it was about 10-12 years ago. I was hunting opening day of Indiana's gun season and I had been sitting for about two hoiurs without much action. I heard a twig snap and looked and saw a small buck that I had passed on numerous occaisions during the bow season. It had been a very frustrating season and I decided I had given "grace" to this buck one to many times. I decided to take him. I shot and he kicked so high I thought he was going to go over backwards. I saw him run about 75yds and go down. I fiqured I'd give him the standard 30min. to expire and then I'd get down and retrieve him. It wasn't but a few minutes when I saw movement in the brush from the same direction that the first buck had come from. It was another buck. I watched as he emerged from the brush to reveal the biggest rack I have ever seen on a deer in the wild. As a matter of fact, his rack was so large it seemed out of proportion to his body. He was perfectly symetrical and looked as if he would score in the high 180s. He stopped and stood in the same exact spot in which I had just shot the first buck. There is a one buck rule in Indiana so I couldn't pull the trigger, although I must admit it was a great temptation. I just sat and watched as he milled around for awhile and then dissapeared in the same direction from which he had came, never to be seen by me again. I waited the rest of the thirty minutes and then got down to retrieve the buck I had shot. Guess what.....I never did find that buck. He had layed down in the spot I saw him fall initially but must have gotten up and continued on. It must have happened while I was focused on the second buck. I tracked just small drops of blood the rest of the way through the woods and across a cut soybean field where the blood just stopped, causing my second sick spell of the day. I never found that buck and I never saw the giant again. Oh well, that's hunting. Blessings......Pastorjim
Biggest buck I've ever seen while hunting......Was in doe season!!! Big dark bodied deer with bright white antlers!! I did kill a nice 8 pt. a few years later, but doubt he even goes 120". Not bad, but no monster.
I saw a deer that netted 196 6/8 right outside of my town when I used to hunt the area and Graf killed his monster. That is two 190" bucks not far from you
I can add to that Raceway. My Dad and I used to pheasant hunt land in the area Graf got his buck years ago (up until around '99). 1998 we jumped a buck that did not even run instead he galloped like an elk and was really gray. The following weekend was gun season and I still hunted that property each and every day without a sign of any other deer. I have seen some 170-180" bucks in MO, IL and WI, but this beast was even bigger. Typical 12 pointer with mass and long tines. Local farmer found his carcass the following spring as I am fairly confident the blizzard of 1/2/99 killed him another way that it killed me....it was my wedding day. Lucky buck...
Saw this guy twice on stand but couldn't get him into range. Unfortunately he got hit by a car a couple years ago.
The biggest buck I've seen hunting... 173 4/8... he died !! The biggest buck I've ever seen... around 180. Far as I know... he died of old age. No one got him unless he was poached. He was a beast. Tim
While hunting probably in the mid 160's close but no cigar. I have killed a couple in the mid 150's and while not hunting but spotlighting I have seen a couple 170-180 class Bucks. That buck you posted is a STUD!
When I was 19 I shot a 172" 9 pointer with a shotgun. It'll be hard to top that for the rest of my life. I got one picture of a huge buck this past November that was 15 points that I could count and would go 175" gross for sure. I'll try to post a picture when I get back home.
