Germ, you said that he is bedding in the corn, so I assume it is still standing. Do you know how long you have before harvest? At best you have 10 days right now as long as that corn is standing. From your picture it looks like you could cheat a little with any wind out of the west. A SW would be tough, but it's getting down to do or die time. What's your prevailing wind there?

Good luck man, I'm looking forward to seeing you behind him.

I can't speak for you, but given the action you've been seeing and knowing the rut is coming quickly I would go for it.

    Good luck.

As much as I try and play the wind sometimes its just not 100% and ill use this morning as an example. I have recently set a stand near 7 active scrapes in an opening (small clearing) inside the woods edge. It is pummled with rubs from 1" to quite a few trees as big as my arm and one of the biggest bucks tracks I have seen in the scrapes. This morning (first sit) my wind was absolutly perfect for the setup. Not long after daylight I heard a deer stirring in the woods just beyond my view. seconds later it snorted twice at me. I checked my wind and again it was perfect, swirling maby but I cannot say for sure. I did what I could but it still bit me in the @ss  I did rattle latter in the morning and had a small buck run in and hang back in the brush. I went in as clean as I could, what can I say!! Good luck on yours, sounds like your getting closer ;)

Yeah this east wind is killing me too. North, south, or west would all work, anything easterly will not. Suppose to be at least a couple more days of easterly winds.
