I saw that the other day. I'll have to order a pair. It still amazes me why people come up with all sorts of theoretical reasons why they don't work well, when I'm able to stack hunting arrows with broadheads in a 4" circle at 50 yards all day long using mine. They are quite simply in my opinion the best hunting rest ever made.
Yea......perfect timing for me as my biscuit is ready for replacement......so I'll just get the new rest instead. Win-Win for me. It is pretty comical at this point to hear guys complain about the imaginary boogie men associated with this rest.......my favorite is when I see guys say they would never want the speed loss..........cause everyone knows that 1 fps makes all the difference in the world
I know they work and work well but for me I just can't shoot my fletching through brush! I've worked for years trying to maintain total fletch clearance and this just goes against the grain for me. Different strokes for ... well you get the idea. If we all used them it would just drive up the price! LOL!!! MMMMMMM biscuits and gravy!! lp
Sweet. I'll be in line to check it out. I use the WB and LOVE it. I don't know that I'll ever change my rest at this point. No reason too.. it works just fine on my bow. In fact.. I don't remember the last time I wanted to even look at a new rest. I am a fan.
Matt, just out of curiosity, why is the WB better or as you put it, the best hunting rest ever made, over the Hostage Pro? Same exact full containment without the fletch contact. Again, curious?
Somewhat of a thread hijack. I use a WB on my bowfishing bow. The heavy duty one made for fish killin'. Mine's the old style where you modified it with tin snips to make it look like the new one. Anyhow, I'm teaching a group of women in the Women in the Outdoors Class about bowfishing. I've got a bunch of AMS Fishhawk bows with AMS roller rests on them when I pull out my bow and start showing them the basics. They're an observant bunch and one woman asks, "Your rest is different, what kind is it?" "A Whisker Biscuit." I reply (sheepishly) "A WHAT??!!" Comments about half of the women. "Hey, I didn't name it."
Okay, I'll bite. Who has used this with fletching. The feathers don't burn up? They don't shred at all?
That particular model, no. I've used a WB since 2002, I really like mine. I'm not shredding fletchings with it.
What size arrows, and fletching are you using? Speed? Just curious, I see alot of people using them, and I am really getting curious about them. (along with the drop aways)
CX Rebel hunter 6075's, 4 inch Duravanes, I'm not sure on the speed at this point. I've switched to a full length shaft and 125gr heads. I'm shooting a Mathews, so according to most, I'm shooting approximately the speed of smell. I've noticed more noise on these arrows than when I was using Blackhawks or Bemans. The noise wasn't an issue (to my ears anyway) with those.
I liked the Hostage pro when I saw it, if I were going to switch rests I'd like to check the Hostage out.
I love my feathers, cant really see being able to use them through a WB, if I still used duravanes, id certainly check it out!
Used to have a Drop Zone, it was great but the full containment rests eliminate any concerns of the arrow moving around when stalking or drawing at awkward angles. Switched to the WB even though I was slightly concerned about accuracy and tuning. Absolutely no problem even at longer distances that hunting out west can bring. Full containment rests like the WB are very solid with no moving parts or strings to attach. Have not tried the Hostage Pro but it looks very good. Might be a little concerned with the top loading aspect of the Hostage Pro with some set ups with the arrow hitting your site when loading. X-Weave arrows are louder drawing through the WB but have never been busted even by turkeys at close range. My Beamans make no noise at all however.
