Meant to post this earlier this morning but work got in the way! I got an early morning phone call from our friend Peakrut. Sounded like he was already 3 sheets to the wind. I know several of us got a few goofy photo's from him throughout the day!!! He is up in northern Wisconsin with several buddies for the next week of gun season. I have money that says one of them takes friendly fire to the gluteus maximus!!! And smart bet says it will be Peak!!

I got a text, the guy looks like he is feeling no pain. Hopefully they are safe and nothing happens to our great brother up there on Fraley Road.

I am sure that is true! He was in the tree stand when I spoke with him earlier so he is hunting. Sounds like they are having an awsome time though.

Well it is already confirmed that the bartender is serving today. To bad it is terrible beer! You would think a guy from Wisconsin would drink something better then Miller Chill!

He had a rough day hunting already. Had a spike at 40 yards and got busted in his blind.

Peakrut sent me a text wanting to make sure everyone knows he is hunting his butt off! If all they got to drink is Miller Chill then I don't blame him!

Hmmm, he made no mention of a swamp, only a drink called Swampwater or something.

I haven't heard from him since sunday. I figured he was passed out hanging from a safety harness!

Fraley has switched back to Miller Lite and assured me he has been hunting hard and getting up at 4:30 every morning. He appears to be in good spirits even though they aren't seeing the bucks. I called a friend in Mercer and word is that the hunting all over the north woods is down by over 40% for bucks from last year. Fraley wants everyone to know he misses the forum and his band of brothers that aren't three sheets to the wind in the north woods of Wisconsin.

Alright brothas I took a doe down yesterday with 15 minutes left of my huntup north hunt.It was the first deer I seen since this past Sunday. I would fill you guys in with more but I am only home for 15-20 minutes as I am heading out to Western Wisconsin until Sunday
    evening.
Rob- You better believe I will be buddy.
Dan- Swamp was packed opening weekend so I stayed up in the hills. If you
could of seen the 2 bucks before the opener they were brutes. 300 yards from my stand
but of course they disappeared once the opener started.

Raceway and Ferg I am switching to Rum on this trip btw. lol

Seen 2 does and 2 spikes but didn't hunt has much as I would of liked.
We had to get my step dad's wood shed full for the winter so
that kept me busy. Deer numbers are definitly down through out the state but
I still had one heck of a time and it was a fun ride for 2008.
I am going to take a break this week and then get back at it this weekend
    with the bow.

Congrats to peak on his does. Got one myself on opening moring @ 8. But unfortunately, my boy hasn't shot one yet. I aimed at the lead of 3 does & he was waiting on one to come out from behind a pine, & when I shot, his deer & another took off in the opposite direction. Bummer.

These 2 bucks a 15 and 21 pointer plus 2 other bucks taken near
a food plot off of fraley Rd by the same group. :bash:
Dan I will have to do some checking but this might be near that
swamp we texted about. This has been the first I heard of the food plot.
The owners son of a bar was talking about the plot so I do have a idea.
