Made from AUS6A stainless-steel (gut hook), 420J2 stainless-steel (hunting), and saw steel (saw) and Kershaw’s interchangeable blade locking technology you have a set of knives that you only need with you when hunting larger game. I was a little hesitant about the stability of the interchangeable blades but after seeing and experiencing for my self along with talking to a knife expert there is no doubt this system will hold up to any challenge you present it. The kit boasts a nice very sharp gut hook knife. I don’t know if this is coincidence or not but, the skinner is very similar to the traditional Alaskan Ulu blade. The blades come very sharp from the factory and the AUS6A steel which does not have the carbon level of some of the higher level steel blades but has less chromium therefore is softer yet more durable steel which will allow this blade to last many years. The saw blade is made of plain steel and seems to cut through tree limbs very well. Although at this time I am unable to try on bones it appears this saw will have no issues even conquering this task at all. The third and final blade is the hunting blade which uses 420J2 steel also known as surgical steel, because of its good corrosion resistant and easily machining qualities. It is also being used in cutting tools like; Knifes, Daggers, Swords, Haircutting Scissors and Domestic scissors. It’s grinding is easy and it produces a fine, vivid and smooth polished surface according to information I found. With the Blade Trader's exclusive Quik-Lock mechanism, this allows you too quickly, easily, and safely trade blades and tools in seconds. Incorporated with their non-slip handles this makes for the perfect combo. The front quillon or finger guard is very well designed to prevent slippage as well as the rear quillon allowing for a great fitting handle and knife experience. To top it all off the overall weight of the knife is 11.6 oz making it a lightweight knife with a heavy duty build.
