    Close enough not with horse shoes and hand grenades.

    The year that almost was with my 2018 opening day Michigan buck at 142 3/8

    Went buckless with archery equipment. I got a buck in WV with the rifle and a doe in Ohio with a black powder. Scored a big fat 0.

    It actually happened to me in 2016. I didn't kill a single deer with my bow that year, and it was a bad year.

    It’s all part of the game. I had killed 4 mount worthy bucks the 3 years prior so I was due for a down year.

    I have not killed a buck with a bow since 2012. Just hadn't seen one worth shooting. I have missed one or two but they were not huge but I was trying to break the drought . but didn't happen. I have killed a few does but I have not killed a deer with bow since 2021. I went something like 15 years in a row killing at least one a year usually more.
