Here is my first whitetail of the season. His antler score won't be very good but I could care less. It's my opinion that he's a 4.5 yr. old. Possibly just a 3.. but a 3 with an above average body size. He should break in at 220-230 lbs. on the hoof.. and I wouldn't be surprised if he went more. WNW winds at 7-10 mph.. about 70 degrees.. hunting near a pond..
Short and to the point eh? lol. What time did you shoot him? What was he doing, going to water, acorns etc? Details man
I believe going to water.. eventually. I had to coax him in a little with the trusty True Talker. One soft doe bleat got his attention.. and two gentle buck grunts sent him on his way over. It's a swamp rat Buckeye.. no acorns here. They browse on the Hawthorn and Buckthorn leaves mostly. Time of shot.. 4:45 pm. Deer fell within 40 yards and within sight.. my favorite kind.
Man he's a brute of a deer. Way to go dM. Fantastic. He's almost a huge Rob buck.. More pics if ya got'em. And like Scott said, details man, details.
Awesome deer! I do have to ask though, where are the rest of your arrows? Or does Justin only let you carry one, like Barney Fife?
