Must be another side effect from global warming. Excuse me, climate change.

I'll be up there the first week of April. Wonder if there will still be ice on it. I know the ice don't come off a lot of the smaller lakes in northern Minnesote until mid early to mid may.

    :sigh:

I don't want to get into a global warming debate, but these remarks always occur on posts like this, and they just drive me insane.

Regional climate extremes do not disprove or prove climate change, so can we please stop with these types of remarks. It is the same as someone claiming the it being hot in the summer proves climate change.

    No, get over it.

Why do we have to constantly hear these global warming nuts telling us how we are killing the earth. I'm tired of that crap too, yet we have to hear about it all the time.

By the way, it was a joke.

I know it was a joke and I didn't mean to single you out. But inevitably every time someone makes a post about something being cold, every other post is some remark like "must be all that global warming!" and it drives me nuts

I guess I should post about how Australia is having record heat right now and say "man, that global warming sure isn't real!"

    It's the same thing

I wish global warming was true so it would get warmer.

It's pushback. Every tornado, hurricane, earth quake, drought, flood, record high, record low gets trotted out as 'proof' of global warming by the supporters. Man-caused, of course. "Look! A polar bear died! Proof!!!"
Just as sure as SUVs caused the ice-age to end. ;)

Warmer compared to what, 50 years ago, 100 years ago? We only have documented temperatures for a hundred years or so. That's not even a blink of the eye in the earth's history.

"Warming up" is definately relative for Superior :tu:

Last year our ice came off on Mother's Day. We burned through around 28" of ice in that last 2 weeks or so. I don't mind the cold, but I am hoping for an earlier spring than last year.

We've only had six days this year, that we weren't below zero for part of the day. One of those the low was infact 0. This next week looks promising though.

Yeah, I know several people that had BW entry permits earlier than that and had to postpone their trips.
