My younger brother has been on fire. Yesterday he landed his 4th fish in the last week or so, and 3rd over 40". We boated 7 muskies total on inland lakes last year. Yesterday's fish makes 6 so far in 2012 over the course of 4 outings. Granted we did a lot of exploring last year, but its still one hell of a start. I wish we had open water in March every year.
A mom that can hunt and a brother than can fish. Good thing Vito can take pictures. You guys are on fire. I can't wait to see some open water here! With the forecast in the 70s a few days this week, the ice may go off earlier than I have ever seen.
I just now figured out what "open water" meant. Obviously, it has a different meaning down here, because I kept thinking "I don't see any open water in any of these pics..."
Well the walleyes finally arrived in the creek 3 days before the season closes. Caught my limit yesterday afternoon and caught my limit this morning in about 30 minutes of fishinng right in front of the old homestead..
For me, MM; main part of the lake; no sloughs, banks or grassbeds. Generally refers to post spawn fishing for suspended fish away from significant cover. (Generally mid-summer and winter)
No. Raised 7, had one that didn't stick and one lost at the net. Season closes tomorrow and it doesn't look like I'll get out again. It was a good run.
Last Saturday in April. Its usually pretty slow to start as they aren't real active post-spawn. Picks up around June, but with the way the weather has been this year, it might be good around the opener. Water could be too warm to fish by June. That would suck.
