    Hello All,

I bought a trail camera that will send text messages and emails. It requires a SIM card. Can I just buy a Sim card or does the Sim card have to be connected to a phone network? Thanks in advance!

Your manual will tell you what you need. You will have to activate the Sims card with the correct type of plan the camera requires. Some need a data plan, some a text plan. Check before you activate the card.

^what he said^ In most cases you will have to activate the SIM card over the phone with whatever Carrier you choose.

Go to Walmart and buy a pre-paid sim card. Check a coverage map to make sure your sim will work well.

You have to make sure you get a Sim card that is compatible with the camera. They won't work with all carriers.... Your manual will tell you what carrier is supported.
