Hello it's my first year bow hunting. Been hunting on a small ranch in South texas, but I've been looking into public land hunts. Any insights or advice would be appreciated. What area are best around south texas? How should I prepare? Is there anything I should worry about while hunting? I'll be hunting strictly with bow for deer or hog.

I am new to bowhunting and live in South Texas as well. Would like to hear if any experienced archers have hunted these lands.

I started hunting the public lands this year. I really enjoyed it, but you need to plan your hunts when others won't normally be there or go where it's hard to get to so you don't run across other hunters, or they don't walk into where you are hunting. They hunting is harder and takes some scouting and planning, but in the end is way woth the experience.
