They went public yesterday, what do some here think of them? I happen to like the company and I am thinking about investing in them.

You ought to lease one, they're only $1658.00 per month. If you want to buy stock, you'd better hurry, prices are soaring!

Because there is a huge swell in the price on IPO's, if one waits a bit you can get the stock cheaper in some cases. I believe Telsa is one of those companies who stock may drop below the IPO in 6 months time.

Sounds smart. Buy stock in a company whose stock you know is going to drop.

    Good luck.

GMMAT is correct. You should have bought it yesterday and sold it today. It looks like a long burn to me.

Germ is exactly right. Many IPO's are really pumped with hype and start out much stronger than they should. Then the novelty of the stock wears off and it settles into a more appropriate level after a few months. A level that reflects the value of the company. If the company uses the newly raised capital wisely, it could then be a good buy. Keep in mind, you can always short the stock early on if you think it is likely to settle back into a lower price.

Pretty big price tag to go green. Pretty small market, but awesome looking cars.

Supposed to be good cars nice looking very fast, stocks should do well in the long run, they seem to have got the batteries right and can go further than other pure electric cars.

their problem is the manufacturing dependence on Lotus... not something i'd want to bank my companies future on... not to mention $100k price tag... and with cars like the nissan leaf and chevy volt both hitting the market very soon at substantially less than half the price (more like 1/3rd the price), I can't see this as anything more than the new Hummer, ultra exclusive and marketed to the rich... they won't survive it by themselves... their IPO and future value of the stock is completely dependent on them being bought out by a bigger manufacturer... just my .02

Actually they just signed a deal with Toyota and this should bring the price down substantially. The Leaf and Volt both have a range problem.

The Volt is an extened range EV/Hybrid. IT will go 300+ miles and all you need is more gas to keep going. It does 40 miles all eletric.

IMO the Volt design is where most EV will go. Instead of a gas engine to charge the batteries, I am thinking a fuel cell.

actually, imho, the proper direction is going to be the way diesel trains are powered... what's termed steady-state diesels that act as generators (no transmission) and the wheels are driven individually by electric motors (sometimes called pod-drive systems)... there would be very little battery use and the motor size needed to provide the drive electricity requirements wouldn't be much bigger than a small generator... steady state diesel is used in many apps already and introduced some really interesting abilities in the 4x4/AWD market without the parasitic losses inherent in transmission/transfer case drive systems...:woot:
