Hello All, Does anyone have any experience with either Kodiak Canvas or Springbar canvas tents? Or something similar? It will be getting a good amount of use so I want something fairly decent and hard wearing. If anyone has any recommendations or suggestions i'd be very grateful! Thanks!
Will I will have to check out the name on my gov't issued pop up tent the thing has lasted me years and it durable. I use it was my clean room when I hunt now and it has survived being out all winter in the snow and ice with zero damage. The tent stakes had froze into the ground and I didn't want to wreck the tent ripping it out. It is a good tent and not that expensive and packs up small.
I have hunted out of KC wall tents a couple times and they seem to be top quality. If was in the market for canvas I would consider them for sure. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk
Sorry I'm so late to the thread, but since there wasn't many replies... I bought a Kodiak this year. I've only gotten to use it on one trip but setting up was easy and it insulates really well. I recommend it.
Thanks for the reply I actually bought the Kodak in the end. It was reduced from 600 to 420 on Amazon so I jumped at it. Haven’t used it yet but I will eventually.
I got the Kodiak 10x14 Deluxe this year with the optional awning. I'm not gonna lie it's pretty awesome and sets up just as easy if not easier than a traditional cheap dome tent. It's heavy but I imagine as long as I store it dry every time my grand kids will probably be using it long after I'm gone.
I have the same one Rick has. Three years so far and i'm totally happy with it. I think you will be too.
I've had the 10x14 Kodiak canvas flex bow in some pretty nasty weather and was very impressed with the performance. Last year in Montana we had sustained winds near 20 mph with gusts up to 60 and the thing was a tank. As long as you stake it out tight, it'll take it. Rain and snow are not a problem either. I do drop the awning when the weather gets crazy because I think that's the weak point. I use a tank mounted space heater and it's perfect for warming the inside when you're getting up or going to bed. Makes the mornings easier for sure!
I own 2 spring bar tents... both over 20 years old... maybe even 30 years old. Had them a long time. One is a 5 or 6 man tent, the other is a pup tent. Spring bar makes a very sold tent that should last a life time. So far, mine has. Spring bars are made here in Utah and are quite popular in this area.
