I harvested my first deer ever this last week and invited my grandpa over to share in the spoils. He has supported me as I got into hunting in the last few years and want to treat him to the best cut. Could you all share your favorite way to prepare it with me? Thank you in advance for your time and help.

I like to marinade my backstraps and bacon wrap them. Not an exact recipe but I do this.

    Cut backstraps into medallions.
Dice a couple cloves of garlic.
A pinch or two of Montreal Steak seasoning.
A bunch of Worcestershire and a dash of Soy sauces.
Marinade with this for a few hours.

Take the medallions out then bacon wrap them (think a miniature bacon wrap filet) skewer them and grill until medrare.
That's my favorite way to do backstraps. Hope this helps you and congrats again on the great first deer.

I looked and happen to have a pic on my phone still from a backstraps I cooked last season. My girlfriend doesn't really like the bacon wrapped ones so I made some without it for her. These were from the first doe I shot last season.

I personally wouldn't try to get too fancy with the tenderloins because they are so good on their own. The above posters recipe is about as far as I would go. Sounds and looks delicious by the way remy.

^^^^ Tough to top this^^^^ Other than put the loins in a Ziploc in the fridge for a couple days before you cook them... that really helps super tenderize them.
