I think that it's time for a compound Steve, put the trad stuff away for a while so you don't do any permanent damage.
Thats probably like telling a wolf not to hunt, or a duck not to crap..:d Whatever it is Steve, I wish you a fast recovery. Hope you heal up fast. That is a lot of wood, but woodburning stoves are awesome. We used a ton of wood in ours this past winter. I can't imagine the difference in a Minnesota winter.
I don't know If I can follow them rules, wrong time of year!! Maybe It's In my best Interest though. We'll see what the doc says If I go In.
So a single guy is having pain in his right elbow....hmmmm. Yeah, I'm sure its the bow causing his troubles. :D J/K Steve, better get it looked at so you don't end up missing some hunting.
I've got over 10 years experience with it ranging from my wrist (degenerated bone) all the way to my shoulders. I've got permanent nerve damage due to the severity of it as well in my elbow. When I go to seminars they have give me a laptop to type because my writing is effected by it that bad. Without reading everyone's response (not enough time) take this to heart. It's different for everyone. The treatment and recovery. For me ice always made the pain go away. I've heard people, doctors, and trainers all say use heat to warm it up and strech. That doesn't work for me. Tend. is caused by inflammation due to over use. Heating something up when it's inflammed never made sense to me. Truely the only thing that will make it better is to start resting it. Then when it doesn't hurt in every day use, you strengthen the muscle slowly. Do not do cut wood to strengthen. Use a thera-band. One major problem with stregthening is people tend to do too much and just make the tend. worse. If nothing else, learn to cut wood ambidextrously. It sucks at first, but it pays off down the road. Let me know if you have more specific questions (exercies and such). I have a few diagrams and maybe some theraband I could send you.
I figured I'd let the people know who were wondering and the others that sent me a few PM's on what to do with It. Thanks for the Info to the folks who provided me some Insight on this stuff. Well I didn't go to the doctor but Instead I went to the Chiropractor. The Chiropractor I go to Is a good friend of mine and he gave me some good Info on my tendinitis in my elbow. I don't have tennis elbow, I have golfers elbow. Lol!! I picked up a tennis elbow strap to put on and wear a couple days ago but wasn't sure I was putting It on right but low and behold I was. He told me to wear this thing for a couple months an he also said there's no need to quit shooting your bow. Just make sure It's on when you do shoot he said. 24/7 this thing Is going to be on until the pain Is gone, I want It gone by bear hunting being I really get a work out with the baiting part.
That's good news! My dad had it as well (tennis...not golfers, lol), and they gave him a brace, and he wore it for several months, and it really seemed to help him a lot.
Glad to see your "golfer's" elbow is better. I figured you were going to have to get eyeglasses next or even worse, eye patches... The chicks dig guys with eye patches, they think your a pirate!
