So if your father served 5 yrs. during that time at some level he must've supported the cause, realist or not. Ted went to pretty good lengths to avoid the draft, getting a student deferment, then never actually being a "student." But he did make a LOT of money touring while he was supposedly a "student."

Different but alike, and Ted rates right next to Muhammad Ali who became a MUSLIM to become a conscientious objector to he war. Cassius Clay or Muhammad Ali, either way it also a name synonymous with COWARD!!! Neither is held in a very high respect by me. Having put in 4 active and 9 reserve, I proudly served my country and if called upon will gladly serve again. Losing almost 50% of my hearing was done respectably (during a military training exercise), not the way Ted lost some of his..... I kill animals that are FREE TO ROAM, not inside a pen, I don't BAIT animals as I don't think it's sporting. Opinions may vary, but I also don't kill little bucks just to get a kill for a camera so I can continue to EXPLOIT hunting as another means to make money.

Sorry but when many HUNTERS don't view him in a good light, he's obviously not doing much for OUR CAUSE in the eyes of those who may be on the bubble..... :argue:

Although.. I know I should not fancy this quote as it has nothing to do with Nugent.. but I'll indulge you OH...

No.. my pops was first born of the baby boomers.. as in born in 1946.. WW II was a good cause and a just one.. it was for our country and our countrymen.. he went to war with the knowledge of how his father and uncles served so proudly.. believing this cause (Vietnam) was the same.

It was not.. this war was political.. and in no way threatened his countrymen... other than those who also went over.

I wouldn't fight for those cowering thieves in Washington either.. but I'd surely fight for our country.. for my family.. friends.. and home.

We disagree it seems.. you see 1 way.. I see both. Let's forget it and move on with the ridiculousness that is this thread.

    Carry on gents.

look if you hunt an entry to a food or water source you are baiting! if you put out scent you are baiting. i bait b/c it helps and its LEGAL! I think its an acceptable part of fair chase b/c weather you plant a food plot or put out a feeder or you hunt a water source or a corn field you are baiting! we all extort the weakness of the animal to gain advantage.weather thats calling, rattling, hunting location, the thing is the deer still have a choice not to come into the bait, the call, the smell of doe urine ,the rattling, the water they still have a choice not like hopping out of a pick-up throwing the spot-light in their eyes and putting a bullet in between. if you dont like baiting fine! i do and i guarentee i hunt as hard as any body on here that sets up off of scrapes and rubs or whatever the hell it is that most of these know-it all/ done it all hunters do! as far as gay marriage goes it was a question of morals. the california lawmakers condone killing babies, gay marriage (which kinda violates that whole sodomy is illegal thing) but say its wrong to put out a little powder for the deer who would probably be in that area anyway and have a choice weather they want to come to it or not but i guess thats more morally wrong than any of those others i named that is legal!

BBD, lemme break this down for you. Baiting is illegal where Ted was hunting. He used bait. He broke the law. He was punished.

Now, what is your beef with how that all went down? Because he's famous?

Using logic like that then I suppose anyone that hunts anywhere is baiting because there is food everywhere and the deer are either eating or on their way to eat or from eating. Some sound logic happening there.

    Opinions on baiting..........

    Opinions on high fences............

    Opinions on war veterans.........

Thought this thread was about how Ted broke the law? He illegally baited and killed an illegal buck, those are facts. I don't care how he hunts, as long as it's legal. He broke the law(s), he should/is being punished. Does it change my outlook of the guy? Sure, but then again I've never been a huge fan but will occasionally watch his show.

If you want to discuss baiting, high fences, or how your the only one who knows how to hunt "fair chase"...........then use the search button. It's been discussed plenty

No wisdom needed. If it was put there by humans for the sole purpose of attracting deer it's bait. See how simple that is.
