don't see the point. Guess it could be fun but I don't think it help anymore then just shooting at a regular target. Have a great time! Let us know how you like it!

I haven't done a techno shoot in years, but it sure was fun when I did.

My local shop has one, but I usually wind up outside shooting 3D instead. I haven't shot the latest generation.

Where is your local shop at? I lived in the DFW area about 10 years ago but I wasn't into hunting yet. Actually hoping to make a trip down that way this summer to visit some friends and would love to check out a few shops. Sorry about hijacking your thread Pearce!

Several years ago there was a shop cslled Red Sand Archery, thats where I shot.

Now there is a shop called Cinnamon Creek Ranch up near the Texas Motor Speedway (and right around the corner from Cabela's). They have the techno shoot, about 200 3D targets on 80 acres and indoor lanes out to 30 yards. My daughter shoots league there on Monday nights. It's a nice facility.

its ok and it really hones your skills from what little i seen of it the day i was there. you have to wait on deer to stop and turn broad side, sometimes you have to take quartering shots. its the closest thing you can get to real life situations IMO but ill find out tomorrow! lol

Ya but aren't all your shots the same distance? I would have to think a 3D course would be more real life. Eitherway your still shooting and practicing which is great!

Yes, all your shots are the same distance (20 yards usually)

It sounds easy when you think of it as a fixed distance shot, but it is harder than you might think, and pretty fun too.

The feedback you get is pretty valuable. It scores you on how lethal your shot placement is, and tells you which vitals you hit, it even tells you your arrow speed. Sometimes the animals are in funky positions, up or down hill, facing head on, etc. Then can load North American and exotic game depending on how extensive their package is.

If you've ever hit into a golf simulator, it is a similar experience.

It is a great way to get interesting practice when the weather is crummy.

it was awesome me and the girlfriend shot for about a hour. we had it set to random and you never knew what was gona be the next animal we would be shooting at whitetail and other big game then there would be a carp in shallow water or a frog sitting on the bank on the next round. very cool and fun. it gives you a score based on miss, body, vitals, or bullseye (heart or head shot). this one did not tell you your FPS though. it really tests your skills though even though it is only a 20 yard shot you have running/walking animals that you have to wait to stop, some of them are quartering shots. I deffinatly didnt get a perfict score so there is always room to improve! will definatly go back maybe next year i will sighn up for the league haha

I enjoy shooting a techno hunt in Marion Wi when I have the time while in the area hunting. Its a lot of fun. My cousin shoots it a lot and enjoys kicking my *** since he knows the scenes and when the animal is going to present the best shot opportunity. Good to hear you enjoyed your experience!

Ive shot the techno hunt so many times i had to give my bow some gatorade. Yes the shots are all the same distance, but the animals on the screen get smaller at times because the video footage is further away, giving the appearance that its further than twenty. Its definitely a challenge because the deer stop behind trees, brush etc.... obviously shooting a 3d range is a little better to duplicate hunting, but its a long winter and the techno hunt can be a challenge. Especially if you dont do the whitetails cd, you can shoot a variety and it will give you turkeys, doves, snakes, turtles, bear, elk, etc....
