    10 days to go.

Just been reminiscing in prior contests and live from the stand threads.

I've never killed a buck before Nov 5th or after Nov. 12th aside from shotgun season and scrub freezer toppers.

The 7th and 8th seem to be my dates, and I have never shot a buck on Nov. 6th.

    2011 shot my buck Nov. 5th 9:30am

    2012 missed a 150's 10 Nov 8th 11am

    2013 shot my buck Nov 12th 2:15pm

    2014 shot my buck Nov 9th 2:20pm

    2015 shot my buck Nov 7th 12:20pm

    2016 shot my buck Nov 7th 6:30am

    2017 shot my buck Nov 8th 8:05am

I hunted last weekend. Saturday was a bust. Sunday morning was the coldest morning this season and had deer on their feet. Had a great encounter with a 110” buck (always my luck) slowly trailing a doe, grunting & thrashing trees.

I’m back in the stand nov 3-11...

    That sucks.

Somehow, that is the one thing I have managed to avoid.

One week from now my season begins at sunrise.

I can't make any promises, other than I will put meat in the freezer, but I will be pretty selective for the first half of my vacation.

Going to be a different hunt since my Uncle's passing, he lived and hunted that land for over 40 years. While I doubt things change dramatically, it's the subtleties that will change things. He mowed and made different clearings and paths every year. This year it is likely to go unkempt, not sure it will have an effect right away but eventually it will. There's also a chance someone else takes it on, I'm not able to this year.

Either way, 8 days I will be posting results of my first sit. November is a week away.

Things happen fast, just a friendly reminder to take 2 photo's with you, the deer and bow and get those racks scored if fortunate enough to get a buck before taking it to the taxi or processor.

Good luck everyone, the nights only get darker from here and with it the bucks lose their senses.

The next 3 weeks shall be dubbed the greatest stretch by the new BH.C contest champs. Typical 8's with a record 8 members in the 200 point club.

    Let's do this!

Gonna do my best. This baby is coming sooner than later but my trail cams have been lousy anyway so far. Biggest buck i have on cam right now is 130s. However, i have a ton of food for late season as a backup plan and i know theres some good ones down the road. I hunt a lot late season so fingers crossed. Going hunting tomorrow morning. Good luck Fellas lets get this done!

Shot a doe this morning. Hit a little far back. I’m thinking liver but she ran onto neighbors land and I couldn’t find her.

That sucks and especially your location. I don't know how you guys down south do it, we call your low temps hot up here during deer season.

Always sucks to lose one, I've lost a few myself. Just have to dwell on that rock in the gut feeling and figure out what could have been different if anything and hope to have it come together on the next attempt.

Defeats are what build us up, victories show what we have learned.

Never a good feeling but it will go away. Stay after it and find that redemption.

Good luck, I just have to get to 4:30pm Thursday. Then 10 straight days until I get it done or run out of time. Hopefully it's not the latter.

I'll be choosey early on, goal going into it is 2 mature bucks. Goal on the bakside of it filling the freezer
