Well, looks like I won't be getting out until my vacation starts on Nov 2nd.

Work is getting pretty busy and got put on 12 hour shifts 6 days a week. Figure I will give them October in hopes they don't try to deny any of my requests in November. Only working 11 days next month.

It'll be awhile yet before I get out, but it's not a bad time to hit the woods either.

Good luck everyone, the rut is near!

After the hurricane moves through it is suppose to cool off some down here. Season comes in next week so hopefully they will be moving. My food plots are coming along nicely. Hopefully none of my stands got blown down by the storm.

Just not ment to be, lol. Had yesterday and today off to do a little hunting, it's been raining all day, both days.

Short video of the one I missed in September.

Wow, he looks even bigger in that vid.

Any recent intel on him or are they increasing their range too much?

So finally went and bought my tags today. 17 nights until I wake up to my rutcation.

Only two weekemds left to get out before then, not sure it is going to happen. One thing is for certain, I will be fresh and prepared for as many all day sits as it takes to get a couple on the ground.

Just doesn't feel as if October is past the halfway point already.

Anyone else have an extended period of hunting time coming up? That score board is about to light up for a few weeks, hope to see us climbing the ranks.

    Still anyones for the taking.

I tried to get a firearm permit today but they have cut the numbers so bad here you have to do the paper application anymore.

Not to be the past 2 years, but I normally fill both buck tags before firearm season so even when I had tags i sat out until 2nd season giving the other guys better odds.

I take 2 weeks off starting the end of October. I’m starting to see rut activity heat up in MN with increased scrapes and bucks sparring. Can’t wait to get out there and try to put a big buck down.

Im taking off fours days to end october and start november so we should have a good amount of us in the woods here soon. The wind here in Indiana has been crazy here lately most days above 10 mphs so im not sure if it is affecting movement but definatly havnt seen as many since the wind has picked up.

Well, work put me on the schedule for Friday which is the best day of the weekend for me. Saturday is going to be windy and with the way the winds swirl in the bottoms not gonna chance it just to be out there.

Got my new set of camo in the mail today and will get everything washed and sealed up this weekend.

Really hoping the weather cooperates on my vacation, it is always the one variable that cannot be taken into consideration ahead of time.

I will be moving into my better spots late next week. I plan to have a good sit on Sunday. Went out locally last night and saw 3 does and a young buck. Pretty good for that place as its public with a lot of pressure and low population from sharpshooting that takes place there.

Set up a ground blind yesterday and had two bucks come in while I was brushing it in. Not sure how big they were I didn't see them until they took off running. Hopefully I didn't scare them too badly.
