Hey fellas, sorry I've been MIA . Just been sick. I had my drop tine buck come in last Friday night right at last light, put the pin on him at about 25 yards and hit high. I was in a ground blind and was filming. Ingot the shot on film if I can get on here I'll post it. At first watch I thought I was dead on and felt good about shot when I took it , but in slow motion you see him duck hard at last motion. I've looked and looked for this deer. Used a drone to scan the area. Watched for buzzards with no luck. I hate it, and I apologize for my error. I am all about respect for these animals we hunt and to not get it done the way I'd like just eats at me. I'm praying he made it. I will continue to keep a look out throughout entire season. I watched him all summer for that moment and messed it up. So I apologize again.
That sucks but it happens, hopefully if it was lethal you are able to find it. It will still count in the contest, especially having the video proof. Either way, I know the feeling and its not a good one. Hopefully you see him again one way or the other.
Like previously said it happens and deer are really tough animals as we all know. If you hit high there is a chance you went thru that area where there isnt many vitals and will see him again. I hope that you do find him but at the end of the day you can't beat yourself up about it. It does suck and ik the feeling but that is bowhunting and sometimes no matter how hard we try to make everything perfect it just doesn't go our way.
I am now even more eager to check cameras each time, just to see if he is on it. Appreciate the encouragement, definitely hits you hard. When I try to upload the video it says its too big. Any recommendations to get it to work?
Yes. I’ve found the easiest way to post video on this forum is upload to YouTube and then embed the link. I hope he’s still alive for you to chase another day.
We on the board just shot my first buck ever not a monster but it’s a buck Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Heck yeah!!! Congrats! Don't worry about size, all about the experience! Don't forget, 2 different pics with yourself, bow and buck in them. Time and date of kill and scoring breakdown if bigger than 50" are all mandatory, everything else optional.
Guess the first question should havr been if you recovered it or not. Hope you're not out there still tracking.....
Sure hope you arnt out there still track treibs. Please help us with our anxiety lol Sent from my SM-G965U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
