That deer puts us over 1k points too which I’m not sure I have been on a team that has done that. That is an accomplishment in itself.

Plenty of season left! Rifle opens here tomorrow so it's going to get sketchy for a bit

If I have to, I might have to. But I promised once I got the one that I would end the season. I got alot of projects to tackle before the cold hits.

Had a decent weekend out with the rifle, saw a lot of movement and a handful of nice bucks. Ended up hitting the 10 point we were watching all summer saturday evening. Thought the hit looked perfect, saw blood on the shoulder area as I was getting ready for a second shot but it ended up getting into some trees. Tracked it that night to a property we didn't have permission to access, maybe 100 yards of blood trail, so we backed out to work on permission. Got it yesterday morning to go in after the morning hunt. About an hour before getting down to start tracking our neighbor texted and his dad shot a limping buck and it ended up being the same one. My shot never got through the shoulder... 30-06 with 150 gr bullets, using factory loads so maybe that was the issue. It was my grandpa's gun and usually I shot reloads out of my 308 and nosler partitions usually puch right through with minimal meat loss and minimal track job. Factory loads were Remington Core-Lokt so maybe I need to reconsider that or start handloading for that as well.

Pretty much. Added 3" of points that I didn't score. Only 1/2" of deductions from side to side if you don't count the abnormals.

Dang team... You guy's have been putting it on em, that's what I'm talking about! I've had some family crap come about that I had to tend to and some technical issues but I'm back online now. I'll get all caught up on what's been put down in the next day or two. Keep after it, y'all!

We've still got a couple bucks to add to the score and I believe a few more does as well. I'm pretty well done for the season but if I have to, I can kill a doe and donate it.
