Good movement this morning. Woke up and it was 28 degrees. Almost stuck a doe but she came in like she was being chased so I gave it a second to see and then she took off. Watched this guy for about a half hour, passed a few easy shots, hoping for a little bigger buck. IMG_7220.jpeg

Oh baby keep us posted! I had a couple yearlings under me this morning a doe and a buck. The doe was tempting but I was in middle of some nasty stuff with bigger aspirations.

Wasn’t the one I thought but one of our top 3! Saw the four on the left side and thought it was a 10 point we have on camera, all in all the encounter was all of 20-30 seconds IMG_7228.jpeg

I seen 4 this morning. 2 really nice does one big was was all over me but I said I wouldn’t shoot a doe in this stand today because it’s the best pre rut and rut stand I got in think cover and I didn’t want to drag a deer out of it today I can get in out out real low impact if I don’t shoot one. Passed a nice 9 point too just outside the ears shorter tines either a stud 2 year old or a weak 3 year old. Not what I’m looking for on my private land spot pry would caught one on public though lol

Thanks! He is by far the heaviest racked buck we have taken! I didn’t hunt this morning, got him all cleaned up and in the freezer. At daylight there was a 17-18” wide 8 point with decent height pinned down with a doe in the cut corn, watched him breed her once, then they went out into a cut bean field and he bred her again. When we left at 2:30 they were still together in the cut beans, and I just heard from the neighbor they were there until dark at least. First time I’ve seen them lock down in a big open field like that.

Well fellas I was able to put 50 points up for a doe! Got her this morning but my shot was back so gave her 6 hours.

She was stiff as a board when we found her! She is processed and in the freezer already!

Love it! Well done man. I didn’t have the right opportunity this weekend but I was on deer all weekend and I’m still feeling pretty confident I’ll have a good vacation.

    Dang that sucks!

Hopefully you took the antlers home. Is your truck totaled?

Yeah I brought him home and processed him last night after I registered him online as a hit deer. No just passenger side damage. I had the tow truck driver pull my bumper out some so I could drive it home.

I got my doe submitted. Now time to focus my efforts on a buck.

I printed out three different jerky recipes to try. hoping to get all three of those going with my doe meat from Sunday!

Do any of you have any secret homemade jerky recipes you'd be willing to share?
