I’ll be heading out tomorrow morning to a low impact spot in hopes to get a doe or 2 down. My youngest boy has a football game at 9:30 so I’ll only sit until 8:45ish. It’s supposed to warm up during the day but if I don’t get a shot in the morning I’m going to do a hang and hunt on an inside corner over some still super green soy beans with heavy heavy browse pressure. There’s a pretty high chance of being with in range of a fat doe or 2 on both sits so I’m hoping for some fresh meat and a quick 50 points!
If there isn't anyone else that has an avatar idea we can use the one that I posted if that works for you all.
Thanks man, it’s just an early doe season but since I got home from my work trip I’ve itching to get out so I’m just trying to scratch it
50 for the good guys. I’ll get her entered after a little while. I have to get her to the cooler and head to my son’s football game!
Meat in the freezer is always nice but that wasn’t the highlight of the morning.you guys know that I happened onto a couple new properties this year in historically great areas. This particular property that I was on this morning I bumped a big deer when I first walked it, I guessed 155-160”. Well this morning I hunted a stand that I only have to walk 60 from the drive way and climb in to. At 7:20 I hear antlers clicking together, followed by some grunts, followed by as close to a knock down drag out fight that you as you can get for sept 21. It only lasted for about 20 seconds when the woods exploded and I had a 140-145” buck run past me at 25 yards, followed by the one I bumped grunting every bound behind the “small” buck. Boy did I misjudge the buck that I bumped, my best guess is in the 165-175” range, a true giant for just about everywhere in the country. A morning to remember for a long time! He instantly became my number one for the year.
Alright Mitch! Congrats on the doe, way to put us on the board! Sounds like she has a good looking boyfriend!
Nice job on the doe. Way to get us on the board! Busy day for me tomorrow. I'm checking cameras, clearing lanes, and shooting my bow. My granddaughter told me she saw a really nice 10 pt near one of my stands in Oklahoma. Hopefully, I'll have pictures. Sent from my SM-G990U1 using Tapatalk
Congrats and that’s awesome! Hopefully he sticks around for you. Throw up a mock scrape, that may really piss him off if he’s that territorial this early in the season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I just ordered some new cameras yesterday. When I head in to hunt that property I’m going to hang one and make a scrape on a real heavy fence crossing that I’ve god a stand hung over.
Finally, a shooter on camera. If you look close in the woods, you can see the rungs of my ladder stand I hung last Sunday. Pork chops are on the menu, too. Sent from my SM-G990U1 using Tapatalk
Add another doe to the column boys! First sit tonight so I needed to let one fly after not shooting a doe for the contest last year. Keep it rolling!
Good stuff man, congrats! I’ve always said that bucks keep a team in the race but a team that is full of dead does wins it!
Just a quick reminder, 2 different pictures with your harvest and bow along with stating the date and time of the harvest when posting to the scorecard thread. Season opens this weekend for me and finally getting some much needed rain this week with cooler temps.
Just a little picture of one of my set-ups in Oklahoma. This is the stand with shooters on camera. Sent from my SM-G990U1 using Tapatalk
Managed to get a hunt in yesterday. Only seen a doe with a fawn and this early I don’t shoot them. The weather is going to be a little warm for the next 7 days so might not be out until it cools and when it does I will be out weekly and a full week during the rut. Here is a few pictures from the cards I pulled yesterday. The 10p is on my top 3 list. Also we got rain a few days ago and the food plots are starting to grow.
Same here, finally getting some much needed rain. Plots have been dry since planting. Hopefully this will get to start greening up.
