Had a few good hunts over the weekend. Rain and wind kept me inside Friday evening. Took my son out Saturday morning and he made a great shot on a doe that only went 40 yds. He sat with me in a blind Saturday evening as my cameraman and only had a few doe fawns and two button bucks come through. At last light, had a nice 135ish wide 10pt come in, but he is one we are giving another year. Hunted by myself the next morning in a stand on the other end of property with only a spike, fork horn and the same 10pt cruising by at 30yds. Really had to talk myself out of sending one lol, with it being the second sighting.
Hopefully this coming weekend will show me some luck before our gun opens up on Monday 12/2. I'll be out Friday Morning until Sunday morning.

Rifle season finishes today so I will be bk in the stand tomorrow. It’s going to be dark to dark sits for the foreseeable future. I checked all my cameras on Saturday and my target buck survived until at least the 22nd. I will probably check them all again this coming weekend hoping he made it through last weekend. I moved more cameras last weekend into the area I have seen/had the most pictures of him. I now have 8 cameras in a 250yd stretch of the fence line. Over rifle season I had 2 daytime pics of him and one was 20yds from the stand I was in for 2-3week (the one with the doe). Here are the pics I got of him.

I got a decent Arkansas buck with my rifle this morning. I'll be out with a crossbow this afternoon. 20241201_091531.jpg

    Congrats!
I'm still grinding away. Waiting on a new buck to show up, not really anything on cam besides some nice 3-4 yr olds. I do have a few bucks that I may go after though. There are two 7pts that are 5+ and a 5 yr old 8 we call Meat.

I'll be strictly hunting with archery equipment for the remainder of the season. Currently, I do not "need" another deer in the freezer. I've killed three with a rifle. I know several people who would be glad to have venison. I'm not finished hunting. Don't give up on me.

Spent most of the weekend taking my son out for the gun season. He took a doe a few weeks ago and still has his buck tag. We seen a ton of deer but nothing within range accept for a 115” 8pt.
Here is one of the 7pts that I may go after, but still waiting to see if a mystery buck we have a shed off of from last year shows up late season.

I should be able to make it out for a few hunts this weekend. It's the second season of firearms but I will be carrying the compound or xbow instead.
