Was a perfect heart shot! Arrow came out right through the armpit on the opposite side. Lighted CE nock didn't light up for some reason which was weird. Got almost the entire thing on film. When I drew she walked a few steps off screen for the shot but I caught her running through the marsh and into the woods and got the recovery on film. Overall was an awesome hunt. She actually busted me and turned and walked away then for some reason came back. Shot her at about 10 yards. Tracking was awesome she was spraying blood everywhere and only went about 60 yards.

Well, I just pulled up to the farm. I'm hunting the next 13 days straight. Well, I hope it doesn't take that long though. My wife has to work today, but joins me for the rest of my time off starting tomorrow. I'll keep you guys updated. Good luck to anybody else hunting.

Didn't see anything this morning, but I checked a couple cameras and the 7 pointer was on them. 8 PM on one and 7:20 PM on another. Both of the times on scrapes. The odd thing is that the cameras are close to 1/2 mile apart. I guess he's just bedding between them and going different directions based on wind direction. That's about all I can come up with right now.

Been tough closing in on the bucks out here, but we've been seeing them. 7 shooters this morning. Muleys are chasing, but the whitetails are pretty relaxed yet

Congrats to Justin and Ferg on the does. Points are adding up.

It's been killing me to work the 48 hr shift and not be hunting. I'm off thur-Sat, so I'll be going out each day. I've got 6 diff. bux on video, one a decent 9 came to my camera an hour after I left the stand. He showed up at 10:30 in the morning and his neck was pretty big. So I'll be out each day full. Hoping to connect with something. Good luck to everyone else.

Well, I had a great hunt this morning. I had a target buck at 60 yards in a bedding area, but he never came any closer. He was one of 6 bucks on the morning. Saw countless does, including the doe my wife shot and we couldn't find. She had a small limp, but looked fine otherwise. My wife smoked a big doe and almost had a shot at a good buck. She was lowering her bow down and heard something take off. Apparently it was watching her and got spooked. I'm not hunting this evening, but will be in the tree for an all day sit tomorrow.

Didn't hunt this morning but got out and got a new set hung and put out two more cameras. Found the trail the deer have been heavily using about 90 yards north of my stand. Can't wait to see what that camera captures!

Well, I'm fixing to go and try to help my BIL find a buck he shot this evening. Said he shot it in the chest cause that's the only shot he had. Sigh. I explained to him why he shouldn't take the shot and it was like it went in one ear and out the other. I'm hopeful we find it, but I've got a bad feeling about it.

that's a tough part to penetrate. sternum is about 2' thick alone. it's meant to protect the vitals. Hopefully he killed it. let us know what you find.

I went out this afternoon. Flat zero, absolutely nothing came by. I was stunned. I thought for sure something would've come by tonight. wind out of the NW and it calmed right down to dead still and I didn't even hear a leaf crunch. Friday is supposed to be complete crap outside, 25 mph wind gusting to 50 and showers mixing with flurries in the morning. So I'm gonna sit it out and hit it all day on Sat. My buddy said he seen 5 bucks and 4 does today between 11 am and 3pm. Go figure.

good luck to everyone going out this weekend.

Had a close call on a dandy muley tonight, our last hunt of the trip. Got about 60 yards but couldn't get the shot. Had an absolute awesome week hunting out here, even though we aren't coming home with anything.

Not sure how much I will get out this weekend, I'll be moving into my new house (which is exciting) but I'll be sure to check cameras at least.
    Good luck this weekend gents!

Well we found the buck still alive. He had opted to not bring his bow along, so after awhile the deer got up and slowly trotted off. We couldn't find it again. He keeps saying that he thinks the deer will live. That deer will die some time tonight. His arrow got probably 16" of penetration and the broad head is still in the buck. I think he doesn't want to go back and look for it tomorrow, so he will just keep saying he thinks it will make it. Dumbass. I guess I'll find out tomorrow if he puts any effort into going to find it.

Man Im sorry to hear that...Ive hunted with people like that in the past and its really frustrating. All you can do is give them advice and hopefully they take it to heart. Good luck to anyone hunting this weekend! As for me I will be rocking out at a Garth Brooks Concert on Saturday night!
