We went out to New Hampshire this weekend to speak to the home/property owner since there has been some problems with the closing because of the bank. While there we did another walk through of the property and it looked great! Saw some great big deer tracks as well as bear and a moose. Some coyote droppings also, which we weren't too thrilled about. Really is a beautiful place up there...we are keeping our fingers crossed and hoping everything works out this week or as soon as possible! Also came across a beautiful Erythristic Color Phase Turkey while up there right down the road form the property. Pulled up next to it with the truck to get some video with my phone and was messing around calling to it...didn't have a call in the truck so just using my mouth but she was a very vocal hen thats for sure lol
I believe it does, Jet. It is 4 acres up front of the house and 30ish out back.... but then right down the private dirt road of the property is thousands of acres of state land as well. On those thousands of acres is a boy scout log cabin for anyone to use, about a 2.5 mile hike in. We def plan on taking advantage of that as well. Elderly couple to the left with another 50 acres that my family hopefully will be buying one day...that would be ideal and a perfect scenario. NH is also a free rome state so if its not posted you can "free rome" we have already introduced ourselves to the elderly neighbors and will most likely be granted access their 50 acres also since they do not hunt or use it (says the current owner). They are very nice people. We don't really just want to "free rome" sort of speak but there is plenty of land everywhere thats for sure. Hopefully all goes well sooner than later with the bank though cause their season open on the 15th up there and I do not wanna wait any longer! Have the itch real bad!!!
Beautiful pictures! I got out and checked a few cameras today on my close property. Finally got some bucks on film. Nothing really outstanding but for this property probably a shooter or two. Unfortunately this property has a lot of hunters on it that will shoot anything that walks regardless of the size so after passing on several small ones the last few years I have lowered my standards on this spot just a little. Definitely have a few that I will shoot if given the chance!
Sorry guys I haven't been active lately. I just started High School and the Honors and AP homework is really catching up to me.
Sounds and looks like you have an awesome place there. I'd love to have a place that close to thousands of acres of state property too. Any piece of property around here like that is so expensive it's borderline crazy. I am constantly looking though. Maybe I'll get lucky one day and find me a small farm I can afford.
Well I gave up on getting a second bow. Called Cabela's Canada again today and they told me my bow was in the process of being shipped for the second time since I ordered it last week. It's actually taking them longer to ship it then it would for the parcel to travel here in the mail so I cancelled the order. My other bow should be ready by the end of next week (cross my fingers) and by the looks of things I would have got the other one by then. Did some looking around online and apparently its faster to order from Cabela's USA then it is Canada, go figure. Guess it just gives me lots of time for more scouting.
Just curious, do any of you know anything about Tyler rector? That guy has huge bucks on his land every year! How much land does he have? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I know from the shows and from the forum he's a good dude, a farmer, and has his own seed company. Love watching him hunt! He hunts some awesome farms and they practice some great quality deer management allowing them to get so big and mature. He's out there by Clint and Frankie I believe.
Wow! He seems like he is only 22! Really got things working for him! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hey guys could really use your opinion on something here. Saturday is my opener here and I told myself I would really dedicate myself to self filming and filming this year. Thing is, Saturday is suppose to be a chance of rain on and off all day and we all know what that does to filming equipment, and I mentioned earlier that I am taking a new hunter under my wing and he is learning so much every day and I have never seen someone so excited for opening day. So if it was you would you hunt and just not video or sit with him in the ground blind and hopefully attempt to video his first kill?
Completely up to you, but from what I've learned with taking new bowhunters out, you need to focus more on the little things, and maybe the camera may hinder that. It would be pretty sweet to have the first hunt/kill on video tho
Hey, How is Team Nocked Up doing these days? Anybody got morning sickness yet? I see that deer fever is running high with the team. Too bad my brother (Midwest Machine) is going to miss on Saturday the one that I am going to shoot later in the year. Remind me to post pictures of it here.... Good luck guys and be safe climbing those trees.
Sorry I haven't gotten back to everyone with the text list been a bit crazy lately. I will get it put together here as soon as I can and get it pm'd to everyone. Season is getting close. Finally getting some bucks on camera at my close hunting property. I still want to try to get out to my lease once more before the season gets here but I don't think that will happen but if not that really isn't a problem.
Got all my new cameras in yesterday, so they will be getting put out this weekend. Gotta finish getting my boat ready to ride in to my stands and wrap up a few other things this weekend.
I'm heading out tonight! Cold temps and rainy yesterday might have deer moving today! Cold but sunny could be a good day Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
