Lots of love on this site for coverts and stealth cams! What kind of truck? I am gonna go on Monday Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Was a 2005 Chev 1500 crew cab. Had a check engine light on and something was squeaking on the front left side. Was not impressed so no truck today.
All that I ever really use is moultries. I've had a lot of luck with them and they are very affordable. I finally had one quit on me the other day. It was about 7 years old. I definitely got my money's worth.
Got one really nice buck on my trail cam check today. I will post the pics on Monday when I get back. Also saw 3 125"+ deer driving around tonight.
thanks for the welcome everyone. Well let me tell you a story about a man named Hank, who forgot his age (51) and tried to outrun a 25 yo at work and the blew a hammy and is now gimping around and tore some muscle/blood vessels (judging from the bruise on the back of my thigh.) So it'll be at least a week before I go out and check out my cams. I am just starting to walk with out a limp today (its been 1 week since my senior moment). What really sux is that I need to trim another lane for the deer to use near my 3rd stand. Yeah Ferg if you wanna come up during the day and come out with me that would be great. I'll have to let the land owner know just to keep in good graces. Hope everyone else has some big boys on their cams.
I think I invented new swear words today. I was out practicing shooting from around 15-20 feet up and everything was going good. After a few volleys I pulled to full draw and heard a weird twang come from my bow. SO I let it down under control and figured I take it home and look it over under some good light. Originally I thought maybe the cable had jumped the controls cause it looked funny. I was about to put it away and saw a line under one of the limbs. Took out the cotton and found out the damn things cracked. So now I have to wait and hear back from Bear on if they are going to fix it or not. FML
Hello fellas, just wanted to stop in and say good luck this season. Hunt hard and above all HUNT SAFE!
Here is the main frame 9 with a split brow. I admit I over-estimated him at first but he is still a nice buck. Like the first buck, this buck I have been seeing all summer long. This buck looks old to me but he doesn't have the tall tine genetics. Nice wide buck.
Decided to bite the bullet and bought a Stealth P12 6 MP Trail Camera. Going to set it up tonight and check it out next weekend when I can go hunting.
Got 5 cameras up in the land I'll be hunting in South Dakota at the end of October. Spotted a giant muley in the draw that I have two of the cameras in. Hopefully I can get pics of him then put him on the ground!
Good luck! I'm headed out this afternoon goal is to put a deer on the ground hopefully it's a big buck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Good luck Midwest! Got a couple food plots tore up and replanted this morning after the beans didn't do so well there. I haven't been to the main property that I hunt in a couple weeks. Hopefully the cameras are getting some good pics. I'm fixing to work on my trailer that I haul my ranger on so that everything will be good to go for season.
Well gents my bow is busted but I finally found a truck worth buying here in town. 2005 Chev Avalanche z71, comes with a second set of tires and rims. Now I'm just waiting to get a hold of Bear Archery tomorrow to see if they are going to fix my bow and I should be getting a back up bow before the weeks out.
pulled camera last week and finally uploaded everything. Still got bucks walking in daylight. But not seeing them everyday. Gonna move cameras next time to cover other exits.
No deer. I figured out hunting north dakota is a lot different than Minnesota. The area I was at was bluff country with a river through the middle. I drove around the block on the way home and decided I was on the wrong side of the river. I'll try again this weekend. I also forgot bug spray which was a mistake! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
