I haven't seen any chasing at all. But I'm new to the place I'm hunting and I'm sure my spots aren't great. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Put a doe down this morning! Saw her in the field as she worked her way to me. Ended up in the woods to my right and presented a slight quartering away shot at 47 yards. Put it right behind the shoulder and severed the aorta (I think that's the correct one). Either way, she piled up after 50 yards. Main question. I was by myself, so I don't have great pictures with the deer. Will it still count as points for the team? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Way to go man, nice shot! I always just take a stupid selfie with my bow and the deer in it Sent from my SM-G930P using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I did that, but I can't see the bow in it Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
And unfortunately I didn't look at the pics until I got home. Deer is already at the processor. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Well ****. This is the only one I got. I'm super crunched for time today and just didn't stop to check and make sure I had everything for a pic. Sorry guys Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
So I am a little over one week into my two week vacation and still haven't made it out hunting. It is tough to get motivated to hunt during the rut when you don't have a buck tag in your pocket. Originally I was planning on going to Missouri or Michigan to hunt these two weeks of the rut, but then when my buddy fell I decided to stay in the area in case he needed some help. Looking back I am glad I did stay for on Tuesday I went to Urgent Care just kinda feeling out of it along with some other issues. Since I had gone to the ER back on October 20th with a deer tick bite they ran one of my blood labs for Lyme's. All the tests they ran came back good and said that I was as healthy as a horse . The Lyme's test takes two days to get the results back on since they have to send the blood to another hospital to run. So Thursday I received the call from the hospital with the results... Positive. It sucked hearing that it was positive, but nice knowing what was wrong. So now I'm on antibiotics and hopefully the fatigue will start to get better. Hoping to get out tomorrow or some time in the next five days to do some hunting for a doe. Sorry that this is so long, but remember even when it gets cold out there can still be ticks and to check after every hunt. Good luck to everyone still hitty the woods hard and stay safe!!! Wind is brutal but you can't shoot them on the couch Sent from my SM-G950U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Had a good encounter this afternoon. I've had 2 bucks in the 125-135 inch range in front of me this fall which is pretty good for where I was at at the time. I convinced myself that I was good to hold out for a big buck. This afternoon I was still hunting a ridge and 2 does came smoking at me from the other side. It took me a second to figure out what was going on, wind was right, I hadn't made too much noise?? Oh yeah!! I nocked an arrow and got ready. Sure enough less than a minute later I saw another deer come from the same direction. A flash of antler was all I needed to draw. So much for holding out!!! In the end he picked me off at 20 yards and I stood at full draw for what seemed like several minutes. He was front on and I had aimed for an opening about 5 yards in front of him. He ran off without every presenting a shot but it got my heart rate up. Long story short, I'll do my best to hold out for a big one but don't be surprised if a Fergie shows up on the scorecard!!! Good luck this weekend. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
