Its Oct 24 and this team has yet to shoot the elusive doe! This is awesome. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I’m here lurking. Been a pretty uneventful season thus far for me. Only hunted twice. Once was a downpour for 4 hours in the stand. Hoping to have another chance to get out this weekend Jason Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I mean blood aint really going to be that hard to come by. I tell you what if I haven't killed anything by next Wednesday or Thursday evenings I will shoot a doe one of those nights. Since I will be in Ann Arbor Michigan at the Michigan game and not able to hunt next Friday, Saturday or Sunday... I will go ahead and put something on the ground next week.
Well, we had a rough night last night. Bow broke. I was installing a new rest and drew it back to check the timing. Not sure what happened but I think I may have dry fired it. Only had it about 1/3 of the way back, but it snapped. Only damage I can see is that it tore the screws out of my mods. So my bow is out of commission for a while. I'm borrowing a bow from a co-worker today, so I'll hope to still be in the woods this weekend. Hopefully I just need to replace the mods and nothing else broke. Went out last night and got to the property around 4pm. Walked out to my stand as careful as possible and ended up bumping a doe out of our food plot. Ended up sitting in the plot until just before dark when I watched a good buck walk behind me crossing a field towards our camp. I decided to do a stalk hunt and climbed out of my ladder stand. Got to the base of a hill where I was going to start the stalk and took my boots and overalls off for stealthiness. I ended up getting within 40 yards of this buck and three doe but the buck was behind brush. Right when the doe and buck walked through a clearing a coyote started howling less than 100 yards away......and that was the end of that. The deer ended up running less than 30 yards away from my truck and crossed the road. For first time stalk hunting that was a lot of fun.
It felt great not gonna lie. Feeling the ground with my feet instead of dragging my big ole lacrosse's around was awesome. It is amazing how much quieter you can be without a sole on your feet. The only negative of the night was the darn coyotes. I pretty much hear them every night I am out hunting. Last year I flung an arrow at one but he dodged me. Have seen 3 so far this year, time to get out the ruger .450 and have some fun this winter.
Well, got back from training and check the cameras..."moose" was in to visit the water. Seems the bucks are making rounds. I will get pics of 1 for a couple days, then no bucks for a couple days and then a different buck shows....hoping "flames " takes his turn! Sent from my SM-G935R4 using Tapatalk
Heres "triple threat" ....hes been in the set aside that my Pops and are may be gun hunting. Not a great spot for bow hunting though...what a unique rack though Sent from my SM-G935R4 using Tapatalk
Had some trail cam pics of bucks peeing on their hocks boys! Had a doe doing the same! Almost "christmas time"! Sent from my SM-G935R4 using Tapatalk
Let an arrow fly on a doe about 30 min ago. Looked like a good shot, maybe a touch high. Hunting with a buddy so gonna sit for a while. I'll update in a few hours.
