After all the commotion pushing trees around behind my house a few days ago, i have a few visitors already....at the end of last year this buck was hanging around another larger buck that i know made it through deer season....hoping to get pictures of him yet too, but id be happy with this one! Funny thing is other half and i went north to close the camper and do some walleye fishing. I really wanted to leave and be home and in the stand by 3 today. That didnt happen...otherwise i may well have been cutting venison this evening instead of walleye since this guy caming cruisin through at 5:13 pm! Oh well...still early yet[IMG][IMG]

Unless the proverbial poo hits the fan at work, I guarantee I will be in the stand for an evening sit tonight!

Well, no sightings this evening. I was reminded however how very uncomfortable the old metal ladder stand is...wow...hard to sit still when your back or butt is hurting. Had 2" of foam cushions i was sitting on...does gorilla still make those 4 inch replacement seat cushions?

Just like sitting in a cruiser for hour after and my back tightening up, so does sitting in a tree stand. I find myself standing up for an hour at a time here and there just to relieve the tension. I just cant sit forever like I used to.

Think I’m going to sit this weekend out... Weather tomorrow morning is 70 degrees and suppose to bit high 80’s all weekend. I just don’t have much internet pressing matters in these conditions- it would take a 150” + buck for me to want let an arrow fly. Killing deer in these temps is just not of interest to me.

Just got back from my hunt with Brett, if he ever invites you to go hunt with him-DONT- hes a terrible guy- just text me where he wanted to meet you. In all seriousness big thanks to Brett took me to a place he scouted and found some hot sign off previously and there was sign all over in there, just missed them by a couple days-they must hve known today was opening day. It was a good hunt Ill definitely be going back to the area, I think the early season key is to be willing to be super mobile get in early in the afternoons and walk around until I find some hot sign and set up on it. Looks like there could be some good ones in there!
    Thanks again Brett

So is there just a nubby now? You know they same if you shoot the doe, the buck will stay on your property.
