I use Firenocks in Red. Never see them in the conversation but I love em. They're super bright, but expensive up front, well worth it. Replaceable battery and easy to turn off. Research them before you buy something else. Small central IL company.
I'm ready to hit the woods here in Central IL. Temps dropped but are gonna be back up into the mid 80's for the opener. I might do an evening hunt this week, after work. Good luck all!
Good bye mosquitoes... supposed to be 25° here in the morning when I head out hunting. Sent from my XT1650 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Well it was very chilly this morning. Didn't see anything so decided to do some scouting and moved a camera. First rub I found also had two fresh scrapes by it. The second fresh rub was on a new property and that is the area I put my camera. Sent from my XT1650 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app

Not here....raining today so decided to clean up some logs in front of one of my gun stands...cameras out, lets see what stops by to play in the fresh dirt! Sent from my SM-G935R4 using Tapatalk
Opening morning and I am staring out my office window at rain and grey skies. May get out tomorrow evening for a hunt when I drop the camper off at camp but it looks like it may rain. Too early in the yar for me to battle the rain.
Debating on hunting tonight... 84 degrees not exactly what I have had in mind - the weather is not showing much of a break until the middle of next week. So I really don't know what I'm going to do at this point - I want to hunt because I haven't been in a tree since last November but I really don't want to waste my time messing up a stand on a less than ideal day.
If you dont want to mess up a stand then pick some public land. Map scout it and set up. Might be fun. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Do you have any isolated water sources you could hunt that are close to bedding or between bedding and food? Sent from my XT1650 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Good question and idea - on my 15 acres behind my house that I rarely ever hunt but have a lot of deer (doe) I have a creek that is still holding water that extends throughout most of the property and I have a stand that overlooks a good drinking area. I might just do that to stay off my good stuff in less than favorable conditions. Otherwise - the good watering sources with heavy cover bedding are near my property line on non hunting park property. I don't have anything set up too close to those 2 water sources but it will be something I will take into consideration next year - would be nice to have a early season set up in one of those areas for this very reason!
Do you have a mobile setup? If so I would move is close to the property line. Other question is, if you shoot on and it goes into the park can you retrieve it? Sent from my XT1650 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Yes - I can retrieve it from the park. I do not have a mobile setup anymore - use to be mostly mobile but got away from it. We will see - I've got a stand on my 15 acres that would be worth a shot and I have a stand on my lease that I could probably slip into. Or I will say F'it and just go workout after work...
