Gonna try to get out of work a couple hrs early Sunday morning. 5am and hit the woods for the first time on a doe hunt. Supposed to be 64 degrees overnight which is a good 20 degrees cooler than just a week ago. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Well since it was way too stinking hot to hunt yesterday, i decided to make a dry river bed instead...hope this one holds up well cause never again! Sent from my SM-G935R4 using Tapatalk
Not Hunting related, but as part of my love for the up coming season I have what I call my "Triple H" time of year starting today. I am going to my first Red Wings hockey game of the year and I am super pumped to watch the new prospects. My love for hockey surpasses how good my current team is lol. The other "H" is obviously Hunting and the last is Halloween just because it's my favorite holiday. Can't wait for October first when regular season starts in the NHL and archery opens up in MI. I'm in school right now so I wont have much time to hunt but when I do hunt I will be going hard. Good Luck to everyone who has hit the woods already! You are all number Juan in my books!
It's looking like Sunday afternoon will be my first hunt of the year. Doe only. Then general bow season starts in 2 weeks. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Who is hitting the woods this weekend? Temps are starting to drop a bit and the projected weather for opening day and week of the bow season looks fantastic. 70s...50s at night. That is great for around here. Started shooting my broadheads today from elevation. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Super excited for this weekend. Will be hunting tomorrow afternoon, Saturday morning and afternoon, and Sunday afternoon. Highs tomorrow are in the upper 50's and low 60's for Saturday and Sunday. We will see how accurate DeerCast is . What is everyone else's thoughts on DeerCast? Personally I think it is going to be a good tool, but I am not going to live and die by it when deciding if I should hunt or not. Sent from my XT1650 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Just saw a monster buck about 3/4 of a mile from my house, super wide boxy rack so perfectly symmetrical I couldnt see any points when it was looking right at me. Probably in the 150s real big for what Ive seen. Too bad I dont have permission on the patch of woods he was in... I think deercast is a cool tool but twice it has said poor and Ive seen deer running around the neighborhood so i probably wont be paying too much attention to it
I use Time2Hunt Lite. Been pretty accurrate this far for the most part. Still ja2vent got my s#*t together yet...will see what tomorrow brings....maybe them can head out Saturday Sent from my SM-G935R4 using Tapatalk
I doubt I will shoot a doe where I am hunting this afternoon since it is a mile back there, but we'll see Sent from my XT1650 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Question for those of you who shoot expendables: How do you practice if you don't get a practice head? I bought some NAP's and there wasn't a practice head. I am use to Rage broadheads and have never shot anything different.
Congrats!!! Great way to start the season. Sent from my XT1650 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
