Awesome job! I like seeing all of the variations of PVC stands out there. I am headed out in about 20 minutes. This front is passing through and it should clear up about 4 so I am gonna be in stand by 3:30 I think. It should be a good night!
Well guys I have bad news. I shot a buck Saturday evening and was not able to find him that night. Sunday morning when I found him he had been eaten by coyotes. With that being said I didn't tag him and he isn't going to count. The good thing is he was an extra tag I had that was just being used for meat and the size didn't matter. He was right at 90-100 inches. My ky state tag is my big boy tag for my farm where I'm looking for 130+. Ill hopefully be able to put another one down come late oct-nov
Well folks my uncle shot one of the big bucks in our area. Hopefully there are more out there. I haven't heard what it scored out to be but here is a pic
Nice shooting! I definitely need to get out and shoot more. I'll be honest I haven't shot nearly half the amount of time I shot last year. Work and a new house has been keeping me busy even more so now that we have our first baby on the way
That's a great lookin buck your uncle took. I love the split brow tine. Ya better make time for some shooting & get that bow dialed in like a pro. 5 shots a night for the next 2 weeks & youll be set.
Shot was about 3 inches back I think i could have went back that night but I decided to wait. In the long run I'm glad I made the decision I did because I was able to find him. Unfortantly he wasn't of any value other than the 95 points for our team. Anyway I'm hunting a new free lease tonight and I'm set up in a persimmon / whiteoak thicket and it's looking pretty Bucky.
sorry I haven't been on lately, ive been pretty busy with school stuff. October first will be here before you know it!!! I cant wait to be back in a treestand.
Check out my Friday night workbench project. I knapped the obsidian & used an antler from a spike I harvested a few years back. I used hemp rope & epoxy to set the arrowhead into the handle & now to let it set overnight. Traditional Handmade Skinning Knife
pulled a couple of the more accessible cards from the Calhoun county farm this weekend & here are some of the results. The velvet is off, the acorns are falling, much of the corn is cut & will be finished this week, weather permitting & the clover & wheat plots look awesome. Going to pull cards from all 25 cameras next weekend (sept. 28th) & put out a few more where we see new sign. Gonna start putting together a game plan for opening weekend (oct. 3rd, 4th, 5th). The bucks are there, now its time to pattern them & put together a plan to put down a giant. And Tallboy has shed his velvet!!! What do yall think he scores? Im estimating 185"+.
All too small.... U should just let me come on over and take one off ur hands :p Good luck man I won't be out till the second week of October due to vacation schedule. I am working on setting up my own little bow shop in the basement to try and ease the frustration on not hunting. I'll post up some pics when I get it all set up bow press is coming in sometime this week!!!!
Anyone in here shoot a hand held release? Thinking about picking up one for the off season this winter. just doing some homework since I don't know a whole lot about them.( what brands are favorites ect)
