I love the idea behind the gobbler getters, just makes sense! I'm debating on using those or seeing what a killzone would do to one of these birds!

I'm going to stick with my fixed blades (g5 strikers) plus using a fixed blade I can leave the shoot through mesh in my blind an be more concealed from them prying eyes.

Well guys im back from NH now, i have 3 days of work and then I'm hitting the woods hard for 6 days straight.

I just read what I wrote previously about using the Magnus for a body shot. I apologize for this confusion. for some reason I read Magnus and instantly thought of the Magnus stinger as that's what my wife shoots. Even though it says bullhead in your post nsimmons it didn't even register in my brain. I agree with everyone else who has steered you correctly, the magnus bullhead should be used for head and neck shots only. Sorry for the mixup.

I have some killzones left over from deer season, I'm gonna set up a couple arrow with them just in case the gobbler getter doesnt do the job.

I think if I ever get brave enough to attempt doing a head shot on a turkey I'll just use a field point an i don't think he would go very far at all with an arrow shaft through his brain

I was bored this past weekend and my girlfriends mom had too many Muscovy males running around so she wanted to thin the herd. I decided I wanted to test my Magnus bullheads. I shot from about 15 yards and I hit right where the back of the head meets the neck if the bird. It did not slice the head off like I had hoped even when I hit it square. The arrow deflected and hit the fence. Broke the arrow and lost the broad head. Pretty much a fail. I was not impressed with them so I'm going to be shooting my slick tricks with the backer for a body shot.

I wonder why the Magnus didn't slice the Muscovy head right off like a turkey. I may have gotten too much skull.

Finished the bird off with the .410

well opening morning was very good to me. 7am i looked up the hill an seen a hen an a gobbler right behind her i hit the call an gave a yelp an the hen answered me back. hit the call just once more an seen the tom was looking at my jake an hen decoy. he made a bee line for them leaving the hen that he was with behind. i grabbed my bow an about the time he got into the blind window he stopped an gave me a good broadside shot. he spun around went 5 foot layed down an died. he weighed 20lbs had a 9.5" beard but only 5/8" spurs. not a monster thunder chicken but a nice 2 year old bird no the less an I'm tickled that the prime got to draw first blood the first hunting trip

Nice Jdice, way to start us off. Hopefully I can knock one down when I go Monday. I have 2 tags, so even if I get one, i'll post the score here and wait and see if I get a second bird and see which is bigger before posting in the scoreboard thread.

Good job Jdice way to get us started off. It was my girlfriends first year of turkey hunting. We only had two days to hunt so she was going to take the first bird with a beard. Well needless to say we hunted all of 2 hours and we had gotten her that bird. She was so happy.

I will post a new topic on the forum and share the link with you guys when we get it up on youtube. It is in the uploading process now so shouldnt be long.
