well i struck out the past two days. thursday, I hunted our rut property. saw one who is on the safe list. Friday I hunted our go to secret awesome property. well turns out they logged our neighbor and it has the deer movement all screwed up. I did bust two does walking out and had em dead to rights at 120 yards but just had to sit there and stare at em since i decided i wanted to take my bow that morning. dunno when im going back out again. will probably try and get one more in before christmas.

Well I haven't been out since Nov 25th - just plain busy with the holidays and other things around the house / with the family. I like to make a log of each hunting season so I can look back on it if I need to. Not my original idea, I picked it up from Fitz but here's my current season breakdown:

    **********************************
Hunts so far this year: 16
    Morning: 10
    Evening: 6
    Total Hours: 43.5
    -------------------------------
    Bucks seen: 5
    Does seen: 13
    Fawns seen: 8
    Unidentified: 4
    -------------------------------
    Total Deer Sightings 30
(some deer are seen more than once)
    -------------------------------
    Deer taken: 0
    -
    -------------------------------
Average Temp (across all hunts): 48 deg F
    Weather Conditions Breakdown: 29% Clear; 52% Cloudy/Pt Cloudy; 19% Rain/Snow/Storm/Severe Weather
Number of Disturbances : 0 out of 16 hunts
    -
    **********************************

My hours are way down this year. This time last year I had 70 hours on the stand and just as many deer sightings. I'm hoping to get back out there maybe once or twice before Christmas and then a handful of times before th season ends at the end of January. How's everyone else doing so far?

Still at it but having no success. Haven't forgotten to work for the team. Rough year, only seen 4 does and a spike thus far. Shouldn't have passed on the last doe, she was at 15 yards broadside but the rut was on and she kept looking back down the trail she came up.

image.jpg Merry Christmas team 32. Man I have been in a slump this season I have killed two does but have not seen a decent buck from a stand in bow range. I did how ever find a one I have been hunting after riffle season someone had shot and not found or left lay that's always nice. The pic is the one I found that was shot during riffle season.

To bad about that buck. I'm sure whoever shot it was bummed about not finding it. I'm in Wyoming for the holidays having fun bird hunting and shooting cottontails with the bow. Got 8 inches of new snow today and already had 8" on the ground. Lots of chukars, huns and waterfowl. A good year for rabbit too. This deep snow is tough on finding arrows but I've been using a rake and try to take shots with a dirt back ground to stop the arrows. Merry Christmas!

Well fellas, my season is over as of this weekend and I don't think I'll be getting out. I went out one day last week for a winter turkey hunt but only flushed two does from their beds, no birds. Good season though. See you all around the forum!
