Had an 8 pt walk by just out of range. A young/small one but still might have taken him. Heading back out this evening!
Good luck out there this weekend Sam. Next tuesday night i will be heading down to spend the night and hunt the opening (15th) day. I finally finished going through all those pics from our 2nd property and we have at least 5 shooters, once of which is that big 10 (140s-150s). So sucks that i can't contribute a bigger buck but I am excited about what we have running around our properties this year. On a side note, make sure to include all the information when you submit your entry. So far both of our entries have been fine but apparently Fitz is having issues with people not giving all the info. So just double check when you submit so we can get all the points. Got some stiff competition out there this year but i think we can pull it off
Hey Thomas, good work on that doe. Looks like some good deer need to start worrying...I have a special draw permit in mid-November and am really looking forward to it. It is only a three day hunt but there are lots of deer and some really big bucks on that property. I walked some of it yesterday looking for a few places to hang a stand and saw plenty of sign, hogs and a huge water moccasin. Hopefully I'll be hunting Oklahoma in the next couple of weeks.
Wish I could get out tomorrow with the rainy weather but I can't. I will be out Monday to hunt the same stand I hunted this past Monday. Anxious to check the camera watching my mock scrape!
We'll guys after a busy past few weeks at work I will be heading out early tomorrow morning to try my luck for the first time this year. The weather looks like it should be good for deer movement.

All I saw this morning was a spike buck. It was nice to see something on the first outing but hoping for a deer that is carrying a little more wood on his head!
Killed a button buck tonight right at dark. Thought it was doe. Posted pics and info in the Scorecard thread.
I would think so. Didn't get out this morning. Had to put the car in the shop yesterday and assumed it would be done last night. No such luck as its still being worked on. I have no easy way to haul a deer in my gf's car so no point in going out. Sucks and I'm annoyed because I don't think I'll be able to go out this Saturday so that's almost two weeks without going out. I shouldn't be this busy during hunting season.
Lol yeah being busy during hunting season sucks. Never made it out for spring turkey cause of that. Day after tomorrow I'd the big day! Few if us are headed down tomorrow evening to spend the night and hit opening day hard. Got a winner takes all pot for first deer down so I'm hoping I can deliver! Congratulations Thomas and Sharp eye, meat in the freezer and points on the board. The wife is now recovered enough from her accident (out of the wheel chair and using a walker) for me to get back to work and start hunting. Off tomorrow so that will be the first morning in the stand for me this year. Way behind schedule for me, should have 70 or 80 hours in the stand by now. Hopefully I will contribute to the score for the team soon and have more time to keep up with what is happening here.
Good luck! If I didn't have work, I definitely would've been in that tree with the front moving through. Cool and sunny now but it rained all day yesterday, dropping 3 inches of rain. I think I might try some of my early season stands this weekend. We shall see. Royals game tomorrow....GO BLUE!
