This is what i did last year and going to do this year. Possibly going to get a couple ladder stands on some properties to kinda work as nuisance hunts. And i got couple public properties ive scouted hard in the past plus my one property ive hunted since living in the area. Ive killed several on.
Learning the travel routes, times frequenting different areas on a new property. You tend to forget about that stuff when you've hunted the same property for 40+ years. Kinda sucks but fun at the same time. Going back over the pictures and really looking at the times and trying to figure which way they were coming, I have determined the area I'm set up in, at least right now is a great evening spot but sporadic in the mornings. I really think when the temps start dropping, the pre-rut kicks in, seeking, chasing, then the full blown rut, this area will be booming. I'm going to do an evening hunt for sure on Tuesday and maybe Monday as well, not sure yet. I'd be willing to bet I'm going to see some pretty good action there in the evenings.
Sorry I’ve been MIA lately. We’re rebranding and changing all of our packaging so it’s been time consuming. JZ is redesigning the website too so I’m looking forward to what they come up with. I probably won’t climb into a stand until 10/30 but I’ll hunt a week straight dark to dark then. Good luck everyone!
No evening hunting on Monday, gotta be into work at 9pm. So, I'll definitely be hunting Tuesday evening and if I'm not successful then I'll hit it Wednesday morning and hope it's their on day in there. Good luck to the rest of ya! It's about time someone on our team draws first blood!
Season opens tomorrow! Hopefully I’ll get out this weekend. I did get to pick up last years buck yesterday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nice buck!!! I still have yet to break into the 100 club. I’m money for a doe though. Lol! Opening day boys!!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I will be heading out for my second sit of the season here in a little bit. Hopefully my idea of this being a better evening spot pays off tonight!
Good luck Shawn. Thought about going out this evening being first day and all, but calling for rain the last couple hours of afternoon.
Saw 4 deer by my stand as I was walking in. I'm settled in now. Couldn't believe the big doe didn't blow at me. At least I had that in my favor. Now I'm just wondering what I'll see next and what time?
Just cleanly missed a doe at about 27 yards. Checked my arrow just to be sure. I hate early season jitters. Back in stand for the last hour. Maybe some redemption will come my way!
