We got out of stand around 930. Started pushing into the upper 70’s. Hunting tonight and tomorrow morning. I did kill a buck opening weekend out of the stand my son is hunting tonight so hopefully it carries over to him. I’m shooting a doe or the big bass tard that I sent a picture of. So guys. For the first week in a new spot I'm fairly happy with what I saw. No giants, but several nice 2 and 3 year old. On a bad note my computer screen broke during the move so looking at the pictures was pain staking and trying to move them around and get a decent picture sucks. Here's a few pics. Not done going through all the pics yet either. Gotta go out for our 39th anniversary supper this evening. Here's 3 different bucks. I won't take any of these but my grandsons might. Sorry about the bad pics.
I, personally, would be ecstatic about any one of them for me! All great looking healthy deer. #1 has a head that looks like a box truck. Given that he would make my hit list. Name “box truck” Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I may not know this property, but I know the area. I'm positive there will be a few big boys cruising this property without a shadow of doubt. Those are the ones I'll be after. I know the landowner has a giant on camera so there's at least 1 big boy out there for sure.
I'm thinking this one is 3.5 years old and probably close to 130. Again, I'm not taking him, but so far he's the best one I've got after one week of pics in my new spot. What's your guys opinions?
I agree on the 130. I would have trouble not letting the air out of him if I saw him. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Well couple weeks. To go did a couple scout trips with the littles. Got a couple around but nothing special yet. Im not to picky just got lucky last couple years. If y'all want to win every needs to shoot a buck and doe only chance you have. Buck size only will come into play after someone else shoots half a group of big ones and all their does. Ask LC but i dont think any team has ever tagged out in contest.
I always enjoy seeing you get your kids involved Andy. Makes me think of my girls when they were young. Hope your lucky streaks lives on...
Kinda had some luck yesterday checking the cams and putting the ground blind up. We found someone had put up a double stand on the property and it's in a pretty good spot. Talked to the land owner about it and he said either a previous owner or renter left it there so feel free to use it any time. So now I have 3 decent spots instead of 2 to switch around in.
Make sure and check all the old straps on that tree stand you found in daylight before using it and add new ones if needed.
I had a fall 10 years ago. Certainly don't need a repeat of that. We'll be doing that next weekend when we go back out and do another camera check hang some ropes from the stands and some hangers for bows and other things.
Not deer related guys but I got my gobbler back from the taxidermist. He was a big ole bird. 27 pounds, 11 inch beard, and some unimpressive 3/4 inch spurs. Other than the spurs he sure was a good one!
My son dropped a doe on Saturday evening. 13 years old and got his first solo deer, with his bow. It was pretty amazing. I just hope that he doesn’t think that he will get one every time he goes out! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
