Checked many of my old stomping grounds and unfortunately they all said no for some reason or another. Good news is, one of the new spots, said yes. Bad news is I've never been on or seen this property so I don't have a clue how good or not good it is. I know area's around have deer and big ones at that so I'm suspecting I'll find some decent deer on this property. I'm going there tomorrow to do some scouting, hang a stand a put a ground blind up and a camera or 2. Season will start in 3 weeks so we'll see how good I am!
This is an official notification that if you want to request an alternate to replace your no-show you can do so now. If you want a replacement the team captain needs to send me a pm. Again, if you want to give him more time that is your call. I’ll be waiting. Well, let’s change that to I’ll keep checking. It’s time to hit the rack. I have a 4:00 am alarm set so I can get up and climb a tree for the first sit of the season tomorrow morning.
I think most of us already said if he didn't check in today we'd request the alternate, so beaver, now is the time. Let's get our man asap!
I have replaced @goldtipxt with @Bullridnfool. I sent him a message telling him he had been assigned to your team.
Avatar looks good, We have a full team, next weekend can’t come soon enough for me. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I'm anxious to get out to my new spot today and see what I find. I already heard there is at least 1 giant roaming the area. That comes strictly from gun hunters. Strictly being a bow hunter for 20+ years and knowing the general area, I'm sure there is more than 1 big buck in this area.
It going to be a super busy fall for me this year. We are in the process of selling the family farm. We have so many things to do to get ready. It will take a month just to empty out the farm house. We have surveys and appraisals to get finished before next year. Im running the deal as I'm the youngest at 65. It will be bittersweet to see it sold tho. Been in the family since 1937.
I feel your pain there. Did that about 10 years ago because of a family difference of opinion. There are family members still not speaking because of this. I hope yours isn't like this.
Well, scouting a new property was a little more time consuming than I planned and I only put one stand up but I know where the ground blind will at least go the next time I go out. The stand is in a finger of woods surrounded by corn on 3 sides. The finger is raised a little a varies in width, mostly 50 to 75 yards wide. This finger is used heavily as a travel corridor between the corn fields. Trails galore crossing over in many places. Great sign, lots of rubs, and just a little down past the corn pile is a monstrous sign post rub made on this tree about 6 inches or so in circumference. I think it's a great spot. The first 3 pictures I was sitting in the stand, the last 2 I'm standing behind the corn pile taking it of the stand. That's my oldest grandson in the one picture.
sorry guys, life got busy on me last few weeks so i havent looked in here. Deer season fast approaching.
