I will be hunting until the end of January. It gets darn cold but I have the gear for it. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I love the cold/snow late season hunts. As long as it's not windy I'll sit in any temperature. I usually only hunt evenings in the late season and usually it's the last 1 1/2 to 2 hours max. I've been very successful killing late season doe's.
Anyone going to doing any more bow hunting this season? I figured I'd at least miss a little something, but I was the last one to post 9 days ago. I've got a doe tag that needs filling and I'll be hunting with the grandsons while the are on Christmas break for 2 weeks.
I'm pretty much done. Matter of fact I'm pulling blinds and cameras today. It's been fun getting to know you a bit more Shawn and all you guys that posted and participated on the team thread. Happy Holidays!
Yes, it's been great getting to know everyone. Forever who isn't done, good luck the rest of your season. I'll be in here off and on checking how things are going. Hoping we can put a few more on the board!
Hope you all had a good Christmas! Happy New Year to you all. One more month to go. Is anyone getting back out there? If so, good luck!
I will post if I have anything over the next month. Still chasing a huge one. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
So I was out at the hunting property today getting it ready for a Saturday evening hunt. I dumped 100 pounds of corn. Tree stand was a little loose so I tightened up the straps. This is the first I've been there since I killed my buck 2 months ago. Tracks everywhere in the snow. Someone stole my ground blind, but my cameras and stands were untouched. New big buck on camera making several appearances. Now my camera did stop taking pics on December 1st so I don't know if he's still around. If he does show up I'm hoping my grandson can whack him! Again, sorry for the bad pics due to the screen on my computer being broke. I'm thinking he grosses close to 150. Only down fall on him is he has short brow tines. Other than that he's wide, fairly heavy and decent height. I'm guessing with his sticker points he's probably about a 14 pointer.
I know it doesn't count on the scoreboard, but I went out this evening and killed my last deer this season, a nice doe. Shot my buck 9 weeks and 1 day and hadn't hunted since. Here she is.
