Congrats guys. My wife’s getting along great with her rehab from knee surgery so I am hoping to get out sometime in the next week.
My neighbor saw a nice buck yesterday chasing a doe in the pasture behind the house. My son already has a blind out there so I took 100lbs of corn out there this evening. I’m going to go hunt it tomorrow evening. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sorry guys. No hunting for me this evening. Family plans rule. However, tomorrow morning I will be in the stand @ 0 dark 30! Keep at it guys. I'm really hearing, at least here in Ohio things are getting real interesting out there!
I’m striking out this week. Not happy with my choice for a hunt in MO, but maybe my luck will turn in the next couple days. Haven’t seen a single deer in 3 days. This is unfortunate so far. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Sorry to hear your hunt isn't being productive. You hunting with an out fitter or doing a diy hunt? Past 2 days my cameras have went silent. I think we got some lock down going on. Add this heat to the equation and it makes for night time activity. Thursday evening and Friday all day should be great! Good luck all you that are hunting today.
No luck this morning. My next time out will be Saturday/Sunday evenings. The weekend will also be 20-25 degrees cooler so hopefully the action will be fast and furious!
In a way, good to hear your seeing similar results. I am with an outfitter, but I’m starting to wonder how competent he is. 5 days straight and I’ve seen 1 doe on day 2. I’ll grant you the weather hasn’t been great, but I’ve never been skunked this bad. We will see what the next few days brings. Driving home Saturday worst case. I've been on several outfitted hunts, never deer, hogs mainly, gator, and 1 bear hunt. Also several paid charter fishing trips. Every single one I was very successful except the bear hunt. The bear hunt was in Pennsylvania, great place, great people. The hunting however was not as advertised. No one in camp got a bear, and only 1 person got a shot off on a bear, other than that it was fairly uneventful. They blamed the weather. I just don't feel the outfitter did enough to move us around to different spots to try and find some action. I hope your luck changes these next couple days. We all know how hunting can be, it only takes a few seconds to change a terrible hunt into an awesome hunt! Good luck!
There are 5 here. 1 guys claims he is seeing deer, but it feels like he’s just trying to be the cool kid. Everyone else hasn’t seen a thing. So far I’ve been out all day today and seen probably 30 turkeys, but not even a Whig of a deer. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Are you hunting a guide set stand or your own setup. Not sure what to say. Sounds like it's just no movement going on. Which is what most are seeing the last two days.
Yeah we are hunting his stands. This isn’t really my cup of tea, I predominantly hunt from a saddle and move towards sign. This fella isn’t a fan. His ship, his rules, I can respect that. My only contention though is if your gonna place me, I better at least see something. We will see what unfolds over the next few days. My plan is all day hunts. I understand why he doesn't want to you to scout and hunt if he has 5 hunters in camp. Hang in there.. Thursday night and Friday morning should be great.
Creepy today is your day. Get a booner Tom. They are moving today. I had 3 different bucks on camera around day light this morning. Taking my brother and nephew out this afternoon to my river place. Should be a good hunt for them. I'm on doe patrol from here on out.
Pretty slow so far. I’ve seen 3 does, 3 fawns and a small buck. The fog just lifted after sitting for 5 hours. Some chasing sure would be nice.
Headed to public land in the morning. We are supposed to get like 5 inches of rain here this weekend. So hopefully it holds off for a little while.
