My boy set a blind up in our back yard. I may venture out there this weekend and shoot a doe. We drove through the hood this evening and counted 54 deer in a block Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Really need some tree time soon. It sure would help to clear out the noise in my brain from the past week and half of chaos my life has been!
Spent the morning getting all my gear loaded in my hunting truck. Loaded the utv and got the trailer hooked up for the season. Even shot several bolts thru the Xbox. It's good to go. Heading out in the morning to check two more ladder stand and put up a new one by the river.
My oldest grandson is a senior this year and he has homecoming this weekend. We have to go take pictures of him and his date at 4:30, so no hunting today. Looks like I'm good to go for a Sunday evening sit and a Monday morning sit, unless I get one Sunday evening I'll have to get it to the processor Monday morning.
Family always trumps all! Enjoy the memories team mate. I think I am ready to hunt after this mornings effort. Been watching an areas movement pattern for several years now and think I have a plan. We'll see. View from the new river stand. Can be hunted on anything but an east winds!
Well, I'm up in the stand. 84 degrees, windy, thunderstorm rolling in around. Other than all that it's a perfect evening for my furst kill of the season. On the bright side, that storm is ushering in a cold front. So, I should see some good action this evening!
Got caught in torrential rain so I switched over to my ground blind. Of course that happened right in the middle of prime time. Didn't see any deer. Heading back out in the morning. Temps are suppose to be in the low to mid 40's. Coolest morning of the season so far. Hoping to see something good.
Skunked this morning. Didn't see a thing. I'll be heading back out Thursday morning and evening. Should be in the 30's Thursday morning. Good luck to anyone hunting this week.
I was out last night. Saw a doe about 100yds off. It was awfully windy but I was still out. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
The wind was really whipping for me Sunday evening, and it was still fairly windy Monday morning but not as bad. I didn't see anything either sit. Hopefully when I go out on Thursday I'll put something down!
Hoping to get out Thursday evening, but the chaos doesn't seem quiet done for me yet. Milton bearing down on my kids in Tampa area.
My sister lives in Tampa, brother lives in Venice, and Mom step dad and another brother live in North Fort Myers. I believe they are all staying put as far as I know. I told them to get out but they're too stubborn.
I lived in Port St Lucie on the east coast. If I was still down there I probably would have stayed, but if I lived on the west side, I would be getting out of Dodge. This looks to be a really bad one and I think even with them saying how bad it's going to be, I still think they're underestimating the damage it's going to cause. My family doesn't live in the direct flood zones but they aren't too far from them.
Shawn my kids were going to bug out today, but they just lost a baby at 20 weeks during Helene. The Lil ones not ready at funeral home and they will not leave without getting her ashes first.
