Checking in but hiking the app trail. Whatever for the name and captain. I'll be back problems Sun night. I'm literally on a ridge near the GA line posting this. Please leave a msg at the beep. Beep.
Okay, I usually suck at team names so I'll leave that to you fellas, but since we have a majority checked in I'll go ahead and nominate nominate Swamp Stalker as captain.
He certainly seems like captain material to me. . I've been on quite a few teams, but I always point out that I'm an old Navy Chief and I'm just not officer material.
Recent pics from the Ridge. The youngsters are up and moving earlier this year still not seeing any shooters yet but this past weekend I did start mock scrapes so we shall see. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
That's good to have a feeder set up like you have. I'm in a hunt club, but have no access for a vehicle. I park at the crossroads and walk down the railroad tracks about 300 yds. I killed a deer last bow season, 25 yard shot. Ran about 30 yards up and over the railroad tracks. He was pumping out fast. "Heart Shot" i normally don't take pictures of the blood trail, but i couldn't help myself. It was an easy track job. " Pun Intended" Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk
I agree with voting for swamp stalker as the caption I plan on checking my cameras this weekend when I finish my last food plot and hang my last couple of stands Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Lol you guys sure you want me as our leader?! If no one else wants to do it, I'll do it. Team name ideas anyone? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Like I said, I suck at dreaming up names. I can't think of anything that goes with our team number. I tried thinking of something that hasn't been used before and I've only come up with one possibility. Bush Thwackers. I'll keep thinking.....
Hey guys I'm checking in right now I will be back later for more chat. Excited to meet you guys and share our hunts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Haha! I'm thinking of heading out to set up a stand for the rut, either tomorrow or Friday. It's in an awesome spot, I've shot deer from there before. Only problem is years ago when i hunted it, i never paid attention to the wind. the predominant wind takes me scent right into bedding areas, so i'll only be able to hunt it 2 or three times a year when the wind is right.
Since I only use climbers I don't need to hang a stand. I could go and take a look at my spots in Kentucky, but there's no need. It's small patches of woods surrounded by thousands of acres of cropland, so I know the movement patterns now. I don't even want to set foot in there as I know exactly which tree I'll be walking to the morning of the 2nd. If the wind is wrong for that tree I know where my back-up trees are. There's nothing for me to do but wait until the 2nd, and the days are slowly dragging by.
