Here's my schedule, I'm off tomorrow and Saturday, can't hunt Sunday so I volunteered to work so I get a day off next week. I work Sun-Wed, off to hunt Thur, Fri then work Saturday-Wed. I'm then off Oct 30-Nov 16th of which I'll be in IL Nov 9-15th.

Well guys I just got back from up north hunting for the weekend with my daughter, no deer but she missed a big doe this morning!! My brother busted another yote so it was a fun weekend. Bummer is I finally got on a bruiser of a buck in my honey hole I never was there and I leave Friday for 28 days on the road so It looks like I wont be able to go after him till Dec. if he makes it through gun season. Don't worry Wally, my weekend wasn't much better. Saturday morning I didn't even see a deer. Saturday evening I saw 5 does that eventually were spooked off by a yote. Sunday morning I decided not to hunt. Sunday evening I saw 4-5 does and got some decent footage of them, but no shooting. All in all, I haven't even laid eyes on anything with antlers yet!!

    Come on November!!!!!!!!!!

Don't worry Wally, I'm sure your wife does too! :whip:

Good luck down here in IL! Hopefully we'll be able to catch up with each other either if we're both down in Brown at the same time. We'll only be a hop skip and a jump over a few hills from you guys. When I kill the Twitchin' Seven I'll bring him by so you can see. :D

Nothing to report, slim sightings but my vacation is coming, so is IL.

Oh and speaking of IL, I've got word that because of gas and some other incidentals there were cancellations with the outfitter I'm with. I am told that we will be on farms that were not hunted this year period! That sounds wonderful to me.

I'll be in Norther IL. I'm hunting Carrol and Jo Davies counties. I'm having dinner with Todd and he invited me to hunt his property with him at least one day. We'll see. The dinner is a definite.

If your near, I'd love to shake your hand.

That would be great. I'm looking to meet as many people as I can.

Before I leave I'll make a post and hopefully make arrangements for everyone.

Rob - unfortunately I will be gone from Nov 1-10 so we won't get to meet up this time, but I wish you the best of luck on your trip out here! Hopefully you can meet up with Todd, Fergie, and whoever else isn't being a skit-wearer when you get here. :D

Looks like I'll be in PA for 4-5 days over the Easter holiday. Maybe we can meet up for a turkey hunt one day? Just a thought!

Anywho - my weekend was pretty slow and uneventful. Yesterday morning I snuck into a bedding area and hunting my stand before light, then ended up having a big mature doe come through, and 1/2 hour later I grunted in two 1 1/2s to the base of my tree. They walked off about 40 yards behind me, sparred for awhile, made some rubs, then bedded down for awhile before getting up and moving off. My evening hunting was a bust, I didn't see a thing.

Today I reigned it in and hung out with the wife to earn a few points before our departure next weekend. Besides, with 30-50 mph wind gusts I didn't much feel like being in a tree anyways! Although I'm super pumped to get down to our lease now. I'm gonna start washing clothes and getting my gear ready tonight cuz I probably won't sleep much this week. The anticipation is killing me!

Hey guys - what happened to us?? We came out of the gates hard and strong but it looks like we're starting to falter! I know Wally is in IL, but the rest of us have no excuse for our lack of updates! :D

Less than 24 hours until I hit the road and I promise to do my best to bring back something to put some points on the board!
