Well, no breaks or fissures in any X-rays. Yippee! It's BURSITIS of the hip. Never knew bursitis could be so painful. I'm telling you all - don't EVER get it - chop your leg off first.
Well I hit one of the bigger bucks. Arrow looked funny as it got close to deer. Shot was back and very high. Arrow stayed in him just fletchings sticking out on entrance side. Found blood after 80 yards or so where I seen him stop. Tracked slowly for another 125 yards or so I would say. Have to let him lay over night. Sucks we are supposed to get snow tonight. I am going to try and get a tracking dog for in the morning
Yikes man! Hopefully you hit something good. Do you think it was in the guts? If so it's a dead deer. What did the blood look like? Good luck in the morning and keep us posted. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Was a 30 yards shot and that stand is pretty high. Probably close to 25 ft up. So arrow had a step angle. This is some of the blood and I tracked pretty easy for another 100 yards after this. But I didn't want to bump him if he was bedded already
Hard to tell from pic. Thinking it's muscle blood or liver blood? Doesn't seem to have that pinkish color of lungs. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
How old do you think he’s is? Mathews HTR, Sword 5 pin, Truball release, Goldtip XT hunter 300, QAD 125 gr Swept, QAD rest
Not sure, he does look mature. Best way for me to judge age with pics of the buck alive and from the side. You have a history with him? What you thinking on age? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
I don’t think I have any known history with him, I’m guessing maybe 6 Mathews HTR, Sword 5 pin, Truball release, Goldtip XT hunter 300, QAD 125 gr Swept, QAD rest
Well I officially suck! Shot over the back of a nice doe at 16 yards. She and another doe were getting pushed around by a spike. Think I just rushed the shot.
It's rough, I know. But at least you had a clean miss. Now that you got the jitters out, you can drill the next one. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Good luck this morning sknox8 of the track. Lets hope for a easy recovery. Anyone else out today? I'm trying to get out to that new property. The owner texted me and ask when am I coming over to shoot some of his does. I sat there Wednesday and had 5 come by, but wasn't comfortable shooting thru the thick and making a bad shot. My next move is to move 50 yards closer on a better crossing.
Prolly gonna take my son out again to try and get his first Buck Mathews HTR, Sword 5 pin, Truball release, Goldtip XT hunter 300, QAD 125 gr Swept, QAD rest
Next chance to get out for me will be next weekend. Gun season opens tomorrow and will likely be taking couple of my kids out then.
Hopefully they can stack up a couple deer for you, get that freezer full. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
No luck with the dog today. We got 1 inch of snow or better. The dog was able to start on the track. We went about 600 yards never found any beds or anything. I don't think he is a dead deer. I just hope I can get a pic of him just to confirm he is still alive. Hate this feeling
Same thing happened to me I feel your pain Mathews HTR, Sword 5 pin, Truball release, Goldtip XT hunter 300, QAD 125 gr Swept, QAD rest
