Yeah I know what you mean. And although it would be dumb, there are some states I wouldn't put it past. My only concern with rifle season is the property I am hunting on is surrounded by 3 really large properties that lease out to "outsiders". Going to have to load up on the hunter orange, even if there is a fence between myself and those hunting around me. Haven't really had to worry about that up to this point yet.
Some chasing this morning bucks and does. This guy never came through though. Back at it after lunch stomach was growling!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Came close on a decent 8 point this morning. Was quartered to me hard. I think he caught some ground scent and got nervous. He hoped out to 50 yards or so and walked off. Changed spots for tonight. Already have 3 fawns out and about.
I AM PUMPED! I put in for a deer-hunting trip offered by The Fallen Outdoors, and I got picked for it along with another veteran. It's in Scio, NY, which is just under an hour and a half away. It's on Nov 6th... (archery season) and I will be able to use my Xbow. It's 20-minutes from where the two largest bucks ever taken in NY were shot (way back in the day) - so, I'm hoping one of their descendants will walk by me. If I can shoot a doe (don't know any of the property owner's rules, or if there are any restrictions yet)... I will.
Congratulations! Can’t wait to hear about it and see your success!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hunt was a good one. Shot a doe will get it posted here in a second. Seen the 8 im after just stayed in the thick brush about 40 yards out. I let him get past me a bit and tried to call him in but to no success. Just check my cell cam at my grandpa's and the 8 I seen this morning was back this evening plus a bigger 8. Will be back there in the morning
I just saw on score card that you weighted that doe, that's a big one! I think I shot bucks smaller then that! Haha Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Ya I have been weighing them the last few years for the trophy doe contest. I haven't seen if they are doing it again this year but I sent them in the video. Biggest one I have entered the last 3 years. Usually 100-110lbs. We did get one last year during gun season that was 136 or something like that.
