Haven't had a pic of the nice 10 that for quite a while. The 8 that I seen a little over a week ago Haven't had a pic of him since, but that kind of been his pattern. Will disappear for a little bit then will be around for a few days. No new Biggers ones yet. Went around the block and seen a nice 2yr old 8 in the one field. I am helping cut wood for my grandpa on Saturday. Will go out after if we get done in time. Will take my youngest out and try to get a doe.
It's looking like the 6th may be my first sit as well this year, lol. Family camping trip this weekend and next weekend we maybe going to VA to visit my wife's aunt which will probably take up 2 weekends. At least the rut should be in full swing here by then
Looks like I should be getting out this evening. Going to a spot that is known for hold at least 1 big buck through out the season. I got 1 more buck tag and not sure what my standards for a buck will be. Guess I will let my hunts dictate that. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Nah, Texas produces some big deer so I hear anyways. Just let the experience and excitement of your next buck encounter decide whether you want to shoot it. Even if it is a smaller rack.
I think it is still way to early in my "hunting" career for me to already be picky on rack size. I have already established that I will never shoot anything under 6 points. I will most likely always be happy with anything 8 point and over. So only size I have to judge are the sixers. Ironically, only thing I saw that first time out were 2 Four pters, 2 Eight pters, and the 1 I got. So I didn't have to make that discernment, which I think helped add to the excitement.
You are going to have to give me some pointer on getting out on public land and finding spots so well. I can already tell this private land, feeder sitting thing, is only going to appease my appetite for so long (like 1 season probably HAHA).
Wow What a great ending to a great story. I had that happen to me. Shot a big ole boy as he stepped forward. Didnt find him after 4 days of scouring the woods. Had to fly out. Later in the season some pheasant hunters found him and gave the rack to the landowner. He called and told me he was going to hang it on the front of one of the cabins He wouldn't give me the rack after I asked and said I would pay all expense. Still think about it to this day. Congrats Holt. He is a real beauty.

ya the second set of shots got me feeling good. I was out and had some small bucks come by. Got real warm so I only hunting the mornings. I have a big fat doe that I have a mind to shoot if she comes in closer. No bigger bucks yet but they are out there. Just so happy to be able to get back into a stand. I also just picked up a Primos 170% blind to put out.

In case anyone wants a little motivation for the coming weeks and you haven't checked it lately, here is how we sit lads: We are only team with more than 1 Buck. If a lone Doe comes by feel free to get you those free 50 pts. I only have one more hunting opportunity this year, but luckily it'll be for basically a full week. So hoping to get at least 3 of my 5 tags filled. Would really like to get em all filled, but have a feeling my 2nd buck tag is going to be much harder to get during that week...
