So I went ahead and posted my buck. I scored him for a 3rd time and came up with 134 2/8. So I will go with that for now. Still plan on having a scorer do it and see if I messed up on his left side.

I am hoping to have mine scored tortur tomorrow. Should've just attempted it myself but went easy route to have someone else do it. Down side to easy is it isn't in your time anymore.
When you say messed up is it because of that abnormal point?

Yes. It depends on which point is the abnormal one. It could be a 3" difference depending on which point.

That would only affect the net score correct?

It's kind of hard to explain. It depends if the 2 points on his left side are both typical coming off main beam, or if one is typical coming off main beam and the other is non typical coming off that point. All depends on the point of origin. If they both come off main beam, I get a higher scoring deer. I went low road for now and posted the lower score.

Some taxidermist will let you take the antlers home with you. Then will call you to drop them off when he is ready to mount the deer. The guy I use let's me do that. That way I can still stare at them! Haha

I would have tried this, however, the taxidermist I am using is 5.5 hours away...its in the town where my wife grew up that we take frequent trips to for her family. It is now my "stomping" grounds for hunting.
My brother in law works at the taxidermy place, so I can just keep bugging him to poke the guy scoring it. Already probed once today, I will probe again this afternoon.

After seeing the "veins" on the inside of the rack, both points look normal to me. Anxious to see how your friend scores it.
Out of curiosity, what did it score counting both points as normal?

Not sure if I did the mass measurement right on that mass of points and beam, but if I did, right around 137-138

Someone had mentioned we bagged a BC buck after I posted pictures...didn't know what that meant until I looked up the BC scoring system.
And actually, I missed the BC mark by 1-3/8 pts due to the differences in symmetry. But I think the fact that the Gross and Final are only off by 6 pts tells me that guy is pretty symmetrical.

The buck you shot is a once in a lifetime deer to alot of people. It may not have sunk in for you, but your going to be hard pressed to shoot one bigger. That's a heck of a buck!

So you found a pen with enough ink to write that large of a number - Congratulations on a buck of a lifetime!

All right guys! The first big October cold front is coming, so who is next to shot one? Great time to get out if you can.

Also if you shoot a 2nd buck , you can submit that as your bonus deer for 50 pts
